I never really liked MoS, so my reaction is more "Maybe they'll actually make a good Superman movie this time."

Unless there gonna do Calvin Ellis who is a superman of colour (Though they might have to not do the thing with him being president as it learns heavily in to Gary Stu territory) he is from the multiverse if they did that they could pull this off as Spider-Man into the spider verse meant Peter Parker was not eased or ignored he just ended up in the wrong universe with Miles Morales.
SPOILER: Show

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
Zack Snyder's Justice League leaked onto HBO Max early. It was playing instead of Tom & Jerry for random people.
Some character focused teasers that came out before the leak...
Wonder Woman - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Akbg9DV6HEI
Batman (darkseid & martian manhunter's voice can be heard) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PKbNzN52NA
Superman - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3T86DvfStk
Flash & Aquaman - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g13CO76ucHk
Other - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr_UmeXcEPU
There is another really cool Darkseid focused one I will post when I find a good quality version of it.

The new “Justice League” exudes a majestic sense of cosmic historical evil. Its tone is less reminiscent of other DC or Marvel movies than of Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. The camaraderie among the superheroes is vastly deepened — with the cheeseball wisecracks excised, they develop a moving affinity for each other. In one of many examples of how sharpened Snyder’s filmmaking is, Ezra Miller’s Flash is introduced with far wittier dialogue than anything Joss Whedon came up with, followed by a mesmerizing bullet-time sequence in which he saves a young woman from a car accident — an episode that beautifully sets up the hidden empathy of his speed-of-light character. Gal Gadot’s Diana has the stalwart but tensely trepidatious presence that got fumbled in “Wonder Woman 1984,” Ray Fisher’s Cyborg has acquired the resonance of a half-machine Hamlet, and Ben Affleck’s Batman is like a different character: With all that Ben-friendly banter gone, he embraces the gruff-voiced, dread-tinged, sinister Bruce with sterling command.

Where Man of Steel and BvS at times struggled to blend tangible themes with kick ass superhero action, Justice League strikes the perfect balance between Snyder’s darker aesthetic and Super Friends-styled high adventure. Indeed, despite a few needless F-bombs and a couple of instances of CGI gore, Justice League is very much a family-friendly superhero flick that will delight (and hopefully unite) audiences, comic book aficionados and fans of Snyder’s previous work. The film also stands as a strong example of how minute details can drastically alter a production.

It is also a noticeable step up from Batman v Superman thanks to concessions made at the beginning of the Justice League‘s production

Snyder Cut was good IMO, though I've always enjoyed Snyder's movies.
Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
I haven't seen the Snyder Cut yet, but I've recently found that I actually like Snyder's films, because even when huge failures, they're still so interesting, ambitious, unique and artistic that I can't help but like them anyway.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
Justice League The Snyder cut
SPOILER: Show
The opening of this is fantastic I loved how they did superman's death and that his dying scream is what awakens the three boxes it also makes sense that his death would be heard worldwide as its like the death of a god.
Wonder Woman's opening is much better paced and I have no idea why Whedon cut out one of the most powerful scenes in it which is a young girl speaking to her and going "I want to be like you when I grow up." and her replying. "You can be anything you want to be." Like this is so empowering it just shows that Whedon had lost all touch and was playing his I'm an empowered fake feminist so hard by this film when he was it wasn't, and it was all a massive lie, and he didn't give a shit about how women were written at this point.
And this was also evident in how he shows the amazons as in his version their pathetic pushovers which the Snyder cut fixes in that it has Steppenwolf as a genuine power and not a tropey boring overpowered villain. You get this scene where the Amazons are doing everything to stop it and laying down their lives to the point of dying to stop him by smashing the pillars condemning themselves to death and causing the whole prison to fall in to the sea which later leads to a dark scene where they fire the arrow, so Diana will get the message that he has been freed.
Aquamans entrance is better fleshed out and ties in better to the movie that follows it and Steppenwolf is better fleshed out he's a whole villain with motivations and desires. There is this fucking awesome scene where Diana uses the arrow as a key to find out what happened in the past, and she comes back to Bruce and there is this amazing bloody battle scene that just better than the original and shows the true villain its also bloodier and longer and just better over all.
Thank god this movie also cuts out the creepy romantic tones with Bruce and Diana which no one liked in the comics back in the 90's and should never have been in Whedons cut in my view. Cyborg and the Flash get their better fleshing out with better backstories on who they are and their feelings and motivations. Cyborg getting what he should have had to start with as his characters was handled horribly in the whedon cut.
The overall fight with superman is better and I like that you do get downtime moments where the heroes talk and grow as people. Its also makes the final payoff with super man joining with a black suite really good and Steppenwolf is killed by group effort though I love that Snyder lets Wonder woman be the one to cut his head off and give the final kill blow since he killed so many off her amazons sisters.
I do wonder if this will ever get a sequel as the end credits set up so much stuff that it would be really sad if it didn't as it looks like its leading to an endgame kind of movie, that could be just as good if not better than end game, since DC is more grounded in a bloody gritty reality and less jokey than Marvel and a brutal end movie without these kinds of jokes could be really fun.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
I don't particularly think Snyder is a noteworthy storyteller, but it did brighten me day to see film twitter bash Whedon who, along side of being a creepy womanizer, can't direct his way out of a sitcom aesthetic. Snyder is certainly a much better visual artist than Whedon ever was.
I don't have HBO Max or whatever, but I would like to see the Snyder Cut and compare it to the Whedon cut.

That creepiness does show in the Whedon cut as Wonder Woman is a sex object for all the heroes to drool over and say gross comments to or fall on like its an anime whereas in the Snyder cut she is a more fleshed out person and a hero of equal standing and respect among her peers which is how it should have been to start with in m view.
I do wonder if Whedon will now also lose the Buffy reboot as he was pushing to direct it, but I think it will now get handed over to someone else and this will be the final nail in his coffin.

It's airing on the UK sky version right now.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
I skimmed through the Snyder Cut (though the film is so long that even that took me like an hour). I really did not particularly care for it but it was certainly a much better film than Whedon's cut from what I saw. Not just because it was longer or something, either. And I might not care for the film myself, but I am genuinely happy for those Snyder fans that really wanted to see this happen. To them it must feel like they've been graced with a gift from heaven. I kind of felt like that when it was announced that Shin would be 2.5h long.

The first episode of Invincible was fucking harsh, like it was bad in the comic but they turned the slaughter into a fucking battle, a very disturbing one.

The Suicide Squad red band trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvoOAPPHNiw
Meh. I am interested for Elba (my favorite actor) and Harley and little else.
The bathroom humor is front & center as I feared.
Pierce Brosnan has been cast as Dr Fate in the Black Adam movie. Nice.

I saw this the other day and was like really you're going for this humour level? Like some teenager wrote it...you have some really great actors here and this is what your giving them?
SPOILER: Show
The worst joke is a bag of dicks, because it leads to a very outdated joke that the Hispanic character by default wouldn't get the insult due to being uneducated as she doesn't understand english which is really poor taste.
Also is King Shark as thick as two short planks in the DC universe canon? Like I know he eats people, but I feel them turning him in to a total dumb ass isn't a great look ether.

^ The more "R"-rated a comedic film is in America, the more immature the jokes become.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
I liked the trailer, particularly compared to the previous iteration of the material, but I agree King Shark was disappointing. I know the Poison Ivy rendition was probably too much to hope for, but I can’t help it — that’s my standard now.

I think that the MCU movies are cool because they are not dry, they have a funny scene. And as for DCEU, there is one special movie, namely Shazam, which is epic because it is not dry and contains a lot of funny scenes.
