5 party members, Yusuke (blue haired kid confirmed to join party). New opening theme for the game.

My biggest problem with the game is it's outdated look. It looks just like Catherine on PS3 (a 2011 game). With all these delays it will look last gen by the time it comes out. Hoping they will up the visuals somehow for the PS4

Eh, anime-style cel-shaded games have pretty much reached their "point of photorealism" by now, so to speak. There are certain games out that look like animation cels when paused, such as some of the newer Senran Kagura games (and those are on handhelds). In fact I prefer to buy anime-style games on the Vita and PS3 whenever possible, because the PS4 versions cost $10-$20 more and usually don't add any noteworthy graphical improvements. Often they tend to add advanced lighting effects that are counterproductive to achieving the anime look. Needless to say, I was very disappointed that the PS3 version of Star Ocean 5 won't be coming west, and that Kingdom Hearts 2.8 isn't being developed for PS3. I do understand the reasons for the latter though (the new BBS chapter included in it is being made using KH3 technology).

That's cool that they announced a new character for Persona 5, though. Hopefully they'll announce at least 3 more in the future. Something else I found interesting in the article:
Siliconera wrote:The main characters will cause some trouble in the big city as the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts.” They say that those who receive letters of notice from the Phantom thieves go as far as confessing their own crimes, and reforming themselves.

The protagonist and his crew will target “corrupt adults” and steal their “corrupt hearts” in order to change the corrupt world.
This game officially needs its own world in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Maybe, could be so. They might go for the smaller casts a la earlier persona games. I personally thought the P4 cast was a little too much, so having these 5 would be perfectly cool.

Then again, still like a year until release (Summer 2016 could be August 2016 for all we know), so another party member could easily be revealed.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but next year is the 20th anniversary of Persona and Atlus said they are planning some kind of an event.

The team at TGS said that the game is basically complete so i wouldn't be surprised if some of the members are already working on a new project.

Persona 4 used the same technology that Persona 3 had. Persona 5 was in development for many years because the team made a new engine for the game. I don't think that they spend money and time to use that engine only for one game.

This doesn't mean that Persona 6 will come out soon but there is a big a chance that it will use the same engine (with some minor updates only to look more next gen). I just can't see them spending again 6+ years to make a new engine from the start for Persona 6.

Of course they can always use the engine for other Atlus games like Shin Megami Tensei V.

Has anybody an idea how to contain one's hype? 'Cause I, for myself, certainly can't.

Me neither. I hope Atlus will release it worldwide early Summer 2016 because i am seriously planning to spend all my holiday playing it.

EDIT: Actually they should release it worldwide Summer 2016 as an apology for the big delay. It's the least they can do.

We've got some updated info on the characters and their personas:

Still not a big fan of the characters themselves, but the personas look badass. I love the Captain Kidd one.

Interesting concepts. Glad they're going with a blank-slate protagonist again. I will name him Sempai Kun.

b.. bu.. but what if there is a character in the game that is the protagonist's senpai? Then the senpai calling the youngster "senpai" would be weird :3

Persona-users outrank all non-users by default. All will call me Sempai.

By the way, is it sempai or senpai? I've seen both variants used plenty of times. Unfortunately in my Persona 3 playthrough I used the M variant for my name and later discovered the rest of the characters use the N variant in conversation. Makes my name stand out too much.

It's Senpai (せんぱい). The ん(n) is not a clear English "n"-sound, so it's sometimes slurred enough to sound like "m".

Persona 5 looks gorgeous, but yeah. Now that I'm not a teenager any longer, it's hard for me to get excited for a game featuring teenagers. Then again, I'm not the target audience any longer, and the Persona games have always been fun and stylish enough, backed up by competent enough writing to entertain me well. I like the idea, that the characters are more proactive. Hopefully the writing style is a little less Anime - I'd really appreciate less overblown reactions - I hope they'll also change the interaction into more naturally flowing dialogue, where not every plot point is repeated ad nauseam.

I'm not a 49-year-old cyborg private military special forces commando either, but that didn't impair my enjoyment of Metal Gear Solid V.

When P3 came out, I was in Middle School. My reaction was "Waw, highschool life will be dope!"
When P4 came out, I was in High School. My reaction was "Waw, nice portrayal of high school life, sure as hell more fun than the real thing"
Next summer when P5 drops, I'll be almost done University. My reaction will probably be me criticizing the false portrayal and hopes the Persona games give for high school :kawaii:

The last piece of real news for Persona 5 was last September at TGS when they dropped the new trailer and announced the delay. It's March now. We had no news for half a year about a game supposedly coming out in the summer... nice marketing

The was supposedly coming out in Winter 2014 lol. Atlus really dropped the ball with how they handled P5, from the beginning to the end.

Oh well. If the end product is worth the wait, I don't mind. Also compared to the disaster in marketing that was FFVXIII/XV, 1-2 years delay don't shock me. I think the fact that they had to make it work on PS4 also, might have thrown them for a loop. Also, the longer it takes to get released, the higher the chances for another price drop for the PS4.
