When you scroll down the page to look at the soundtrack info (lots of densely packed information on 1 page!) it says "pre-installed soundtrack available in high-resolution audio". Includes Utada's songs which were done in high resolution too.
Seems like the trial listening stuff was(?) available at the Sony Store in Ginza/Nagoya/Osaka on Friday May 16th.

Sailor Star Dust wrote:As mentioned in the Walkman-Sdat thread, there's remastered OSTs of the 3 New Movies with the ED songs included.
But on the 3.0 OST, what the heck is Track 35 (1155_warsaw) by good ol song lyricist Mike Wyzgowski?
Man, I can't find these anywhere. Not Amazon.jp, not Ebay, not Google . . . are the exclusive to the walkman?
For my post-3I fic, go here.
The law doesn't protect people. People protect the law. -- Akane Tsunemori, Psycho-Pass
People's deaths are to be mourned. The ability to save people should be celebrated. Life itself should be exalted. -- Volken Macmani, Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra
I hate myself. But maybe I can learn to love myself. Maybe it's okay for me to be here! That's right! I'm me, nothing more, nothing less! I'm me. I want to be me! I want to be here! And it's okay for me to be here! -- Shinji Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yes, I know. You thought it would be something about Asuka. You're such idiots.

That's what I'm wondering too. These tracks were recorded not even ten years ago. It isn't like they were recorded on analog tape back in the 1970s or something like that. I don't know much about the technical aspects of audio recording, but the only thing I can think of is perhaps releasing the tracks on blu-spec CDs or a similar format.

I've been looking up and down this thread and yet to find anyone commenting on Q's OST with it's correlation top the scenes they're played in. Most notably are the lyrics in the OST's track in the scene or event that's being played out that frightens me the most.
To make a few examples that I'll show with you are:
"Return to Ash". The song plays just as EVA-13 is descending down the Main Shaft towards Level EEE. The lyrics in the track are that strikes me are:
"echoes the work of the devil
the death and destruction
the symbol of Hades
the heat and the hatred
the breakdown of life
leaves us sorrow and strife
and we all will return to the ash"
The track continues until Asuka attacks, but the in the Lyrics, "Hades" is the lord of the underworld, yet in the "Underworld" (Lilith's chamber), the only the amalgamated Lilith corpse stands.
Also, the track "Betrayal" begins to play as soon as Shinji makes his way towards Lilith and during this time Kaworu essentially betrays Shinji with false hope and then followed by Shinji by betraying Kaworu's trust.
And with that I leave a question, which I should have asked at the opening of this post, does the OST tell a different or untold story to what's being presented on screen, or am I jumping to conclusions?

I think it's more to accompany the events happening in the scenes they are played, the lyrics doesn't tell anything more but a metaphoric exposition of what's happening, like an epic tale.

Kensuke is a military otaku who, at one point, is shown creepily taking pictures of girls to sell. He would clearly fit right in as an animator at Studio Gainax. -- Compiling_Autumn
EoTV is a therapist, EoE is a drill instructor. -- Chuckman
Seriously, that is the most fananked theory I've ever heard, more than Mari being Marty McFly travelling through time to keep her parents (Asushin) together. -- Jäeger

I still can't find these remastered OSTs for sale anywhere. Did I miss something?

I think that for the moment it's an exclusivity with the Walkman-SDAT that Sony will soon release.

No one knows why it was called "Famously", until someone makes an interview of Sagisu.

Nah, it refers to how famous is the fact that Shinji will fuck up everything if he is not guided by the hand by anyone in the series (since you know, Shinji is the dumbest human in entire cast) and in this case Kaworu.
Another jaded man.

Emphasis on the "supposedly", we don't know anything about Shinji's rep outside the Wunder command bridge crew.
@Stillborn: Seriously, shut up now, we're all getting really tired of you endless tirades.

...I think that was meant as a joke, El. Note the emoticon.

THE 'BORN IDENTITY
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.
