The worst is that it's an error pretty common in the net, it's like people really believes that Anno would name a serious organization "Willie".
And the correct name is on their logo!

I feel like propagation of "Willie" is partly the result of the early spoilers claiming they were 'publicly an organization with the goal of cleansing the oceans/saving ocean wildlife.' That combined with "Wille," I can't be the only one who thought "Free Willie?"

Stillborn, quit trying to give guys like these attention that they don't need. He doesn't raise any new questions that have already been asked by other fan boys, and he goes on a 12-year old temper-tantrum that is so annoying that I can't take him seriously anymore. I hate the wannabe-plinket school of internet moviefilm talking as much as I hate the obligatory ironic detachment of the millenial generation. You can enjoy any film if you come to it with the right mindset. Nitpicking according to a rigid, workmanlike definition of definition of what fiction must be that's copied out of some How to Write Science Fiction book is not the right mindset.

He lost me, when he proclaimed, that people, who failed blame everything on god, which explains the heavy use of biblical imagery. You can't state such a generalization as explanation, especially when the work in question is Japanese, where most of the people don't adhere to mono deistic believes.

True, but of the many times i've checked this part of the forum i can count with one hand the threads in which i could say "Man, i'm glad i checked this. It was a really interesting and informative read".

The guy from the Q review posted again on DA. This time his opinion on "why 4.0 will suck". I'm not posting link this time, but if anyone is interested, you can search it.

As for me, there was at least one part of it I agree with, so it's up to you if you want to check it.

Well, I read it, and I must admit that he has some very good arguments, not in his affirmation that FINAL is going to sucks(I would agree if it was any other director than Anno), but in his analysis and fear of how FINAL will have an hard time to address all the question left by 2.0, added by 3.0, developing both the new characters (the new faces at WILLE) and the "new" post time skip version of the characters we know from before so we will actually care for their fate instead of being hit by "Darkness Induced Audience Apathy" syndrome, and finally give a satisfying ending that won't feels like a cop-out, or an asspull (if Shinji magically fix everything, completely subverting 3.0's message), or a fridge horror one where Shinji and WILLE manage to defeat Gendo, but realistically Shinji's life will suck hard because everyone still hates him(if he manages to live long) or that it was a Pyhrric victory and that in the near future mankind will be condemned to be extinct in the sterile rock that is now Earth(assuming the world as indeed been obliterated by Third Impact like Kaworu implied)

In short : FINAL will have a lot of work ahead, and will determine if the Rebuild will be remembered as a giant cop-out or Anno's new masterpiece, and more specifically it'll either redeem 3.0 or damn it, depending on if FINAL give us satisfactory answers to 3.0's mysteries that justify the lack of information and character development and screentime(for everyone not name Shinji or "Rei") as a way to convey Shinji's alienation and confusion.

It'll have to be at LEAST two and a half hours long to give us any kind of closure. . .Or at least in an extended Blu-Ray Box Set Cut or something.

But seriously even the original series didn't give complete closure, or had every question answered. Again, I don't agree 4.0 will suck, but if your looking for complete closure, to be coddled, to not be told the hard truth, to get a 100% Iron Clad happy ending, look elsewhere. There are more than enough other Animes and Movies out there. Don't look to Eva.

I wouldn't mind A Dieu Ex Machina myself personally. If it means Shinji can find some happiness and live a relatively normal life after the events of Rebuild I don't mind.

I'm not looking for a complete closure and a 100% Hollywood happy ending, just that the most important answers(notably WTF happened around Third Impact) are answered and that Shinji and the rest of the cast can look toward the future with hope instead of fatalism, that's all.

I'm waiting till the 4th movie comes out before I take any of these reviews seriously. 90% of them argue about the same things over and over, and all of them keep reciting that the Rebuild films are doomed.


As of right now, this film is up in the air. Its incomplete and needs the 4th to help tell its story.
