Well if Rebellion turns out to be the end of the franchise, that would be a troll ending worthy of the Urobutcher!
But since they explicitly stated that they intended to continue the story after that (and even crafted the movie so such a continuation would be possible) there's little doubt that something new will come eventually.
And in a sense it's already coming, since there are several manga spin-offs that were recently released, most of them exploring the character of Oriko, which seems to had gathered quite the fanbase, to the point that it wouldn't surprise me if she eventually appears in the follow-up series or movie(s).

Sorry to ask, but could you put a link here to the article that mentions a definite sequel?

It's from the interviews of the Magica Quartet after the movie was released, notably in the guidebook, where they explain that when they first reunited for the brainstorm of finding a scenario, it was agreed that the movie would be made so they could continue the franchise after it. (Urobutchi even said that his very first idea before said initial brainstorming he was thinking about Godoka successfully taking Homura to her Magical Girl Yuri Heaven)

So after the shitstorm that this decision raised (and they knew that it would raise a huge shitstorm, Urobutchi even warned in an interview for a French anime magazine that Rebellion will make many people unhappy, and that was before its Japanese release!), I really don't see them not continuing, especially seeing all the cash the franchise brings to Studio Shaft. It would be as if Anno decided to end the Rebuild with Q. (although arguably the situation is far better at the end of Rebellion than it was at the end of Q!)

I am okay if we don't get a sequel. I am happy with the ending of Rebellion. Hamura seems happy too ^_^ .

Except that Homura isn't happy, in fact she's more miserable than she ever was, that's the whole point of the last scenes of the movie, and especially the one where she had to restrain Madoka from restoring her memories and powers, showing us that Homura's fight to keep Madoka in the former version of what the latter's happiness should be is lost in advance, it really feels like a tragedy where the only direction it can go is against a wall, and Homura realized it but have no choice but to continue forward, because she has gone too far to turn back.

I wouldn't call her miserable. Surely she is in better state then before (jumping back in time numerous times with the same outcome) now that she can pull the strings.

But she had to betray Madoka to obtain the power to pull the strings, that's why she's miserable, because she had to sink a low she would never thought she would reach to reach her goals, and that's eating her from the inside.

Man, believe it or not, but next year Rebellion will be played in a Viennese Cinema (alongside the Mushi-shi special and Cencoroll!) (and of course loads of other crap)
I guess I'm going to treat myself to some marvellous eye-candy!

Accept that Madoka can make her own decisions and chose her path, even if it leads to her doom, as long as it's her decision.
But of course she has first to realize that, which I think will be the whole point of the follow up to the story.

More official yuri, BECAUSE I CAN:

Never really got too into Kyoko x Sayaka.

That picture of Homura and Madoka, on the other hand, is classic
"The will to lose one's will?"
"Absolutely. The will to make oneself completely free. Will is the wrong word, because in the end you could call it despair. Because it really comes out of an absolute feeling of it's impossible to do these things, so I might as well just do anything. And out of this anything, one sees what happens."--Francis Bacon

The official art from magazines tends to be much bolder than in the series proper, like this one:

Now if only they could invite the staff of Legend of Korra... :naughty:

And then there's the art that gives Ultimate Madoka a heavy tan, as linked above.

I don't suppose anyone has that picture without the "sample" watermark on it?

I didn't found one, I think that it's from a work that wasn't released yet.

I think that comes from her Geisha look. IIRC around the Sengoku or Edo period (i don't know my Japanese history) it was a common thing for either courtesans/geisha or women in general to paint their faces and/or skin white, as it was considered elegant or attractive at the time.

In those days, a pale skin implied that you did not need to spend all day toiling in the fields; tans came in when that showed you didn't spend all day in a factory.

In general, standards of beauty follow what distinguishes the leisured classes from the hoi polloi.

But pale skin is still the standard of beauty in Japan.

That's what I thought too, but every official art of Homura transformed has her with deadly pale skin, like the two images Rosenakahara and I posted above (even in the "geisha" image above the deep purple eyes imply that she's transformed, like when they depict Madoka with the long hair and golden eye of her divine form, but wearing something else), which contrasting with when she's in human form in which she has some color on her skin, the best example is here:
