Yeah I have to agree, it's been a dud. There's been only two really good episodes so far, 2 and 4.
Zombies were a bad choice, Captain Carter was too tame (it was just a retelling of the movie with a different character and the whole thing of Howard Stark building his own Iron Man was completely glossed over), and the one where all the avengers die was boring. The last one was just confusing and the story made no sense, it made Killmonger come off as a really contrived character who succeeds because everyone is an idiot.
So, wait, let me get this straight. Killmonger isn't just a killing machine, he's as capable of an engineer as Tony, too? Okay, I'll buy that, but he outsmarts Tony with his own tech? You're telling me that Tony had some way of catching him killing Rhodes via Jarvis but the Wakandans don't have something built into T'Challa's vibranium combat armor to do the same thing? When did Shuri figure out something was up? Where was Shield during all this and why didn't Pepper go to them, or vice-versa? Killmonger acquired all of that intel on Stane how, exactly, and since when does showing all the evidence in public without handing it over to the authorities actually work? Would T'Chaka, Ramonda, and Okoye all be completely and totally oblivious like this? Did Killmonger have to complete some kind of a trial to become the new BP? What even was his plan?
That's the part I can't figure out. It's extremely convoluted. He built an army of vibranium super bots (and do they have the vibranium in the shell, or just use it for a power source? This was unclear to me) only to wreck them to... make himself king? Why did he personally kill T'Challa and take that risk?
In the movie, Killmonger is a pretty clever villain, and he knows he can't fool everyone- he makes allies in Wakanda who have hardliner positions that are sympathetic to his plan to overthrow world governments and uses Wakanda's traditions against it to seize power with the support of those internal allies, effectively carrying off a coup. In this he just waltzes in and they all love him as the result of a painfully obvious and transparent plan?
And where the fuck was M'Baku? You're telling me he wouldn't have challenged Killmonger?
