I think it looks cool, maybe even better, but why change it? Is anything sacred to these people?

Do you suppose it can only run on backup power for three minutes now that it has to power it's full-hectic glow-in-the-dark neons?

I dunno, I like it. This has got has potential.

I don't see why one would dislike it.

Face it, guys, it could be a LOT worse.

I'm still looking foward to Rebuild because they just couldn't do this earlier with the old technology.
Haunted dolls? If Rozen Maiden ever taught us anything it would be to look under it's dress.

I think the neon green "belt" looks kinda ghey, myself. Yamashita's color concept should have stayed in the Reject pile.

As much as some people like to beotch about the changes made with Weta's Eva designs, at least they didn't make the Evas look like a bunch of toys. This thing just screams "Now with glow-in-the-dark battle armor! Availible at Toys R Us!"

Seriously, what possible tactical advantage could glow in the dark armor provide? They may as well just put a giant neon target on it. The only reason I think they did this was to give some extra pizazz to the toys and model kits.

BITCHING ABOUT THE WETA EVA DESIGNS IS A MEME.

Well, if you HONESTLY think gimp suits are a better alternative...

I think I beat you to it last page. Kekekeke.

When your foe doesn't need eyes to "see" you, it doesn't really matter. That's how the Evas got away with such "lively" coloring in the first place.

Meh. I'm still most interested in seeing the character designs.

Yui-sama is disappointed that she doesn't count as a character.

You know, I always thought that the little EVA 1 thing on the shoulder should've lit up.

Meh, It's ALWWWWWIGHT. But not bad. :3

While they're giving Yui-Sama a DUB job, they should give her some spinning chrome rims, green airbrushed flames, and a giant external subwoofer on her back just to tick off other drivers and pedestrians. Shinji had better hope they don't try to catch him ridin' dirty though.

I think you just described Optimus Prime's design from the new live action Transformers movie.

It's obviously glow in the dark so they can find it easier at night. I can't believe some people are having an issue with this "redesign". Apparently being a bright purple and neon-green bastard child of machine, man, angel, and fanwankery that can change scale whenever it wants to doesn't put it over the top at all. It's nothing big, it looks more or less the same.

I think the size of Eva in the rebuild should at least give us the pleasure of not changing size every episode.

No use in trying to keep them to some sort of scale now, in my opinion. The Eva's constant change in size didn't annoy or even distract me, but I bet I'm in the minority there.

You're not in the minority. In fact, I didn't even notice it until someone mentioned it to me. And it doesn't bother me, either.

It was somewhat annoying in EoE

It wasn't really annoying, just kind of took some of the impact the EVA's had. At one point they are Godzilla size, almost as tall/taller as the buildings. The other they are climbing up the buildings the size of a "mini me EVA". A more set scale would be nice to have more consistency, but if not I won't let it ruin the movies for me.

Now, while I need to do a recalculation for GGNR's height, I'm guessing that Yui-sama exceeded the high end of her Dynamic Height (200m) by QUITE a lot in some of EoE's cuts...
