Sleeping beauty themed LRS art. PLZ make it happen. Obviously with Rei carrying a miniature of her "enchanted shield of virtue" and Shinji half in his Q box thing.

It's at least as substantiated as the whole tanabata kawoshin thing, with Rei being a canonical fairytale fan in Rebuild.
Feel free to substitute a character of your (dis)liking as maleficent.

Well, it's sort of mixed up. (pesky 21st century equality and all that)

Rei got dat shield, Shinji spent a while in stasis (and in the real world, the country that the sleeping beauty and her parents reighned would have been devastated by a bloody sucession war in the meantime. Sure, the parents and the rest of the castle got to stay with their daughter/princess, but what about thir country?), but he did do something similar to fighting through a field of thorns to get to her.

I'm not clamoring for poor Shinji to be put in a dress again XD (but it would still be better than nothing, I guess.)


I DO wonder if Final will include a "mighty sword of truth", just for the luz

Actually, Misato and Asuka could both be Venus, depending on how you interpret Venus, but I guess Misato gets to be Hera by virtue of being the oldest one.

Going back to the Sleeping Beauty idea I think even before Maleficent enters the picture Rei II needs to be confronted by Rei Q who has been guarding Shinji's coffin all these years. Should make for a nice chapter of self-discovery for both of them.

I thought about Maleficent turning out to be Kaworu but nah. He wouldn't want Shinji in a box. Only person who that would serve is Gendo. Now everything falls into place. Gendo schemes like he usually does, manipulating all those he needs for his plans. Except Rei II. Dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuun.
