That's the trouble with NGE's universe. It's hard for anyone's death (or the threat of death) to carry much weight since we know they'll probably be back one way or another.

Do we? I mean it's true for NGE, but even then we only found out about that in the very end, NME is something else, maybe resurrection isn't that easy, or that possible, this time around.

Unless you're in the camp that's going to argue that characters like Gendo, Kaji, Ritsu and Misato are going to return post-3I. I firmly hold they will not. But that's a discussion for another thread, some other time.

That's nothing to do with any particular camp. Lilith tells us flat out that everyone can return if they care to. Many people might choose not to, but that's a separate issue.

In NME: it's hardly an issue so far, since Asuka never really died to begin with (and it's not like that was a big reveal or anything, since we found out almost immediately). If Instrumentality occurs everyone who dies might come back. If it doesn't . . . well.

As with Kaworu, I think he's going to do something dangerous, Shinji will beg him not to, and he'll do it anyways. In the end, everything will be alright. Shinji looks more shocked than scared after all.

Or they might just be recycling. Alternatively, he's refusing to cooperate with Keel Lorenz-san, and Shinji's watching. Kaworu uses his AT Field. Shinji obviously gets scared... and well, there we go again.

Despite all the tweests they pulled in 2.0 the general form of storyline followed that of series. If Kaworu won't end up being Angel, betraying everyone and getting Shinji kill him (that is presuming he won't survive into 4th film) I'm surprised. I think the broad big picture of kaworu-shinji relationship will stay the same.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic but this is the trailer thread. Does anyone know what the piano piece is that is played during the Nico piano trailer? I would love to learn to play it but I need to find it first :) and I have goggled this question every which way before asking lol.

In my prediction, the close up of Shinji's face from the tv spot, will be a scene where kaworu's in bed with Shinji talking, and I think kaworu is telling Shinji a secret about Rei's origins, so I'm guessing that he found about Rei's origins when he made that face, I'm not sure, we'll have to wait for it to be released to find out.

Yeah, "Quatre Mains" means four hands. It's found it the titles for a lot of duets.

Nah, it will for sure I reckon. Recalled recently in another discussion that the same "book-end" Rei appears before Shinji right at the beginning of 1.0, just like in NGE. And in NGE, that Rei ties in with Instrumentality. I realise that this is NME, and everything is still up in the air - But I'd say this could be used a pretty good indicator of what's coming.

'Otsuki Interview' aside, I think that's what Eva is all about; the characters (Hedgehog's Dilemma, the human condition) and Instrumentality.

But what if the whole "Giant God Warrior" thing (which sounds an awful like like the idea of Apostolos/Angels) is just a ploy, and they are the MPEs? Everyone always calls Anno a troll for some reason. Masking the much speculated MPEs as something else in a side project would be on par, then.
