Note the 17th Angel versions are both higher resolution and apparently taken directly from the original postcards -- you can see texturing and such in the scans. The others look like they're scans of copies. Still nice to have, but I found the distinction noticeable.
Also, I wonder why there are two for Asuka? I'd expect that for Rei given her popularity in Japan.

Maybe they've been filtered by the guy that scanned them, I'm not sure about it though.
It's always been high, if I have to base my opinion on the number of fanarts, Rei is preferred by "casual" fans, I saw a lot of fanarts around the release of 2.0, while Asuka is preferred by "hardcore" fans, it's only a generalisation obviously...

I guess they really got the hang of 3Difying Eva images from that 3D Eva 2.0 trailer they did for the Nerv cell phone. I just hope they decide to do it for the whole four movies. I'd pay for that.
