Thoughts? Will this be bad, good? Average? Any of you have issues with Melissa McCarthy or the mostly female cast?
Personally, I don't think it'll be god-awful. But then again I thought the same thing about Pixels and Fant4stic last year. So hoping for the best expecting the worst.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
I mean, judging by the trailer it's nice they tried to make it an all female cast this time... And none of them are Micheal Bay Girls, none of them! That's cool.
But then, they seemingly also decided to make the black girl, the dumb one... Which is kinda bewildering.

The trailer looks good. Same sort of campy humor and similar tone as the original. It seems to have a good idea of what it needs to be, and for that I'm actually pretty interested in it now.
Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
Made me laugh and I like 2 of the girls a lot so I look forward to seeing em. That being said I hope that trailer wasn't the best the movie had.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
The humour bored me, I really do mean that, see ghostbusters was always kinda silly in what it did, but it also matched that with an equal amount of actually intimidating moments (ZUUl and his minions being a good example) and somewhat believable characters that made the funny moments funnier, this just seemed like stock comedy film #542

It's not as good as this trailer.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
It was "Meh," I guess. I think the weirdest part was the trailer itself. Seeing a late 80's title use modern editing and marketing techniques in a trailer just didn't feel right. Also, I didn't find it funny. The tone was all over the place, but at no point did I laugh. The only joke with half a chance towards the end of the trailer was killed by the editing.

That was a million times funnier then the actual official trailer.
God this movie needed Bill Murry in the worst way it just isn't the same without the dry wit.
Seems like just another cash in by Sony to keep the license...moving on.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
Looks pretty atrocious to me; I'm actually surprised at the number of people who think otherwise.
The all-female casting thing is pretty much just a politically provocative smokescreen for the fact that this is yet another completely gratuitous, senseless, money-grubbing reboot of a beloved 80s film. Only worse than usual in this case, because one of the defining characteristics of that film was the lightning-in-a-bottle chemistry and personas of its specific actors and their characters. Show me which one of these actresses has anything resembling the charisma or comic acumen of a Bill Murray or Harold Ramis. (None of them.)
And before anyone insinuates that I'm a sexist weasel who doesn't think women can be funny, I would watch a movie where every role was played by Jane Lynch.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
Trailers all too often suck feces, and I don't know anything about the cast, so... I'll opt to just not give a shit unless something happens to make me start giving a shit. That strategy works pretty well for me in our oversaturated world.

The trailer is over 2/3rds dislikes. Jeez, people! I at least waited until the movie came out before I began ragging on it!

Seriously, this is getting really annoying with the votes.
And the trailer doesn't look so bad.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
Aren't you the one ragging on Ghost in the Shell, the movie we don't even have a trailer for yet?
More to the point, isn't this what trailers are for: giving an idea to the audience what the movie will be like beforehand? Surely for many people trailers are a deciding factor in choosing to see the movie in theaters, whether it be grabbing an audience or turning one away. I personally thought the idea of a Ghostbusters sequel/reboot was ridiculous originally, but this trailer was interesting enough to me that I think it might be okay. I could be wrong and it might suck, and I could also be wrong if it turns out to be amazing like the original, but this trailer at least intrigued me enough to want to give it a chance.

Yep, i agree with this. Actually the same thing happened with me (wasn't interested at first but after the trailer i look forward to it).

Same here. Hell, I could go either way on the trailer, but I'm inclined to give the movie a chance just to spite all the negative pushback it's getting. Only thing worse than a bad movie is people complaining endlessly about a bad movie, so fuck 'em. I'm gonna watch it on principle at this point.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot
I'm not a fan of the trailer at all. It doesn't make me want to go see the movie. However, sometimes films don't have good first trailers. I really do want to like this Ghostsbusters reboot, so I'll hold out for some more trailers.
Shin Evangelion brought me back, five long years later.

Hey, my negativity was expressed specifically towards the trailer itself. I haven't directed any thoughts towards the movie yet.

Looks fun.
And Bill Murray is in the movie. As is Dan Ackyroyd and Ernie Hudson.
