Brazil is still latin america, so it should. Does Brazil have a specific one in Portuguese then?

Yes, it does.

Also, I found the tweet on LATAM account:
“Like a miracle, life starts with the pain / Forever this will be” — “Heroes of Sand” by Angra.
“É porque nós gostamos de você. Obrigada por conversar comigo. Vem, me dá a sua mão para andarmos juntos.” — Rei to Shinji (Portuguese dub).

Honestly this does not make sense to me. The Japanese page for the first 12 minutes states that the preview will be up until March 21. Amazon Prime Video is basically Japanese's Netflix and the video is free, so I expect that many people watched it and then went to the theatres. Why removing it then? Sure there are the other trailers online, but it just seems so odd considering that the premiere is a one big trailer and the movie will remain in Japanese theatres. Considering that the following day there is an interview with Anno on Japanese TV, for me they will remove it in preparation for something that they will announce during that period of time.
I think we will get all the first three movies on international scale, but we can only guess for TuaT's release.
In my opinion TuaT is ready for release on streaming, and this was a preventive measure from TOHO in case Covid's numbers went up shortly after the release of the film in the theatres ("You couldn't go and see the movie? No worries it's on Prime for a fee!"); probably they would have released it internationally in this case. Since however Japan seems to be not in any sort of pandemic crisis right now, I think TOHO want to make money from their theatres; and I don't know how this will translate on a global scale in terms of releases. I doubt however that they want the theatres' money from other states, since in any case the release of such a movie would be limited (here in Italy they are usually released for three days or less).
So long story short I think we are getting the other movies soon and that we will receive some info between the 21st and the 22nd. They are not going to remove the premiere and then just rerelease it internationally and then stop here. But I am not fond with how such things work so I might be completely wrong.

The spanish, as all countries that were conquered and romanised by the Roman Empire, are Latins. Being localised in North America tough, Mexico is not part of South America.

All I heard about this (other than from Joseki) is from an italian specialised site that claims that the italian amazon was contracted to get Shin three weeks after the Japanese premiere when it was originally opening in January. They do not claim to know if conditions have changed since then.

That the first three disappeared after being announced one week after Shin´s premiere in several markets when the last film got delayed might be just some kind of mistake, a coincidence, or the indication that there is some kind of plan here. That official amazon is playing coy about said no show opens doors to speculation. It makes you feel that they are clearly waiting for something.

It feels rather weird to think that this movie could be on a perfectly piratable platform three weeks after opening, more so seeing how well it is doing at the box office, but we dont have all the information, so... Still, weird.

But it is all speculation. My advise, don't expect it. If it comes, great. If not... well, we all knew the drill. Japan aint Hollywood.

Could you link this Italian source please? I am pretty sure it is Distopia Evangelion, but I can't find any posts on it on their websites. I would translate it for you all.

They talk about it in some of their videos. You can find them on facebook.

https://it-it.facebook.com/distopiaeva/

The are very long videos too, more than an hour, and they don't really have a dedicated video for this, so you´ll have too find the exact minute on your own. If it helps, I think (pretty sure, but not 100%) that they talked about it during the 12 minutes preview live stream and on the last video. Hope it helps.

I searched but to no avail. I will try to search it better tomorrow or just ask them outright: however I have followed them for years now and for me it is very strange that they didn't say anything about it in a more explicit way, because they would usually do.

They were pretty explicit, also about what they do or do not know now. Accurate, now that's another thing...

Grazie per il link!

So for the Amazon release they say that a guy from a site called Animeclick (Alessandro) said that originally (ie back in Janaury) the movie was bound to be released after three weeks on Prime dubbed. They are unsure if the contract is still valid in this form or not after the movie was postponed.

Again, we don't have really any kind of confirmation. In my opinion something is bound to happen between the 21st and the 22nd; I am pretty sure we will recieve all the three precedent movies, but who knows for TuaT. We can only hope for it.

The January AnimeClick livestream with guests (now deleted) is the one with the juicy scoop and inside info. There is more out there if you search hard enough.

Since it looks like Amazon and Khara have been working really closely with each other on getting the first three Rebuild movies on Prime, I'd be more surprised if they didn't work something out for this deal when they pushed the movie back

This kind of seals the deal alone, doesn't it? This is a matter of when, not if. I wonder if they've retranslated the subtitle tracks and redid the English dub with the VSI Los Angeles voice actors? Probably.

So, how unusual would it be for a Japanese studio to bypass the normal foreign theatrical channels for feature length films and go straight to international streaming? Because, as far as I know, this is not common for an international release of a film initially released earlier this year.

Like, are we still expecting an international theatrical release before the Amazon Prime release? Or no?

I see a lot of confused reports of what has been rumored or reported, so I'm gonna make a comprehensive summary of how this story unfolded in the past months. I still don't want to write names on here so I'll try to keep this details vague (even if the people in question technically commented publicly on the internet, so I guess you could all just search for yourself who they are).

This is the complete chronology AFAIK:

- 17 December 2020. khara announces an exclusivity deal with Amazon Prime Video Japan for the unlimited stream of Jo, Ha, Q. The movies were never available for streaming before (only online renting).

- 27 December 2020. Prime Video LATM and Prime Video Mexico announce their January catalogue, both catalogues include Jo, Ha and Q for January 27th.

- 31 December 2020. AnimeCliks speculates the Rebuild movies and Shin will be on Prime Video worldwide

- 7 January 2021. In a end-of-the-year article Distopia Evangelion suggests the Rebuild movies will be headed to Prime Video worldwide. They also speculate Shin will be headed to Prime Video very soon outside of Japan.

- XX January 2021 (before the delay). In a livestream (now deleted) on Twitch with Distopia Evangelion, AnimeClick and a guest (big figure from the world of dubbing), they reveal a few things: the movie is already fully dubbed in italian, who the voice actors are, who is returning for their role and who may not, how one particular voice actor feel about returning to Eva after so many years, who is not directing the dub, who is not adapting the script and that the movie is coming to Prime Video in February.

- 14 January 2021. Shin is delayed.

- 27 January 2021. The Rebuild movies on Prime Video LATM and Mexico vanished.

- XX February 2021. On a german dubbing enthusiasts forum the studio and director of dub for the german dub of Shin are revealed.

- 3 March 2021. Studio khara announces the new release date and a series of event in partnership with Prime Video Japan to promote the movie. On the Prime Video Japan YouTube channel the 3 movies and the first 12 minutes of Shin will be livestreamed. After the livestream the 12 minutes of Shin will be available exclusively on Prime Video Japan for 2 weeks.

- 5 March 2021. EvaMonkey speculates Shin will be headed to Prime Video with the other Rebuild movies worldwide.

- XX March 2021. In a Distopia Evangelion livestream one person publicly reveal he worked on the dub.

EDIT: the italic for speculate is intentional, both when the word is italic and when it is not.

Don't want to sound cynical but I don't think anyone would spread fake news about German dubs on that forum. Synchronforum also shares lots of inside information on projects that haven't been released yet. Having a studio and script director attached to it already means they're working on it. Although there's no source for that information it lines up with other languages being done too.

We'll see if it's happening at the end of this month but I'd find it very strange that there's so much fuss and rumors about an anime movie from so many niche sources if there's no truth behind it.
