Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

This is bullshit.

I guess we don't have any big Apocalypse in Horizon before Newton's 2060s prediction? :(

How boring.

What was his prediction? Does it involve a giant cosmic apple falling on the planet? Because that's the only way I'll believe it.

Plenty of things for the chiliastically inclined to fret about like

  • The near pass of asteroid 99942 Apophis in 2029 and again in 2036
  • A span of 2000th anniversary dates of the Crucifixion
  • The Year 2038 problem for Unix (also the Year 2036 variant for NTP)
  • The binary millennium in 2048

I honestly don't remember the details but Newton was big into all kinds of Occult and secret knowledge* and somehow - with some crazy complex mathematical formulas I think - he "found" from Bible the date for start of final war between angels and satan's host and bla bla bla

That date was somewhere in 2060s IIRC

Every year, my calendar comes to December 31st. When I flip the page, there's nothing more. I run around panicking like a geeked chicken for a while, but then I go out to the store and buy another calendar. Rinse and repeat.

We still have an good ol' paper calendar hanging on the back of the basement door at our house. I barely ever use it since Windows has its own.

2060 to be exact, however he meant that 2060 is the earliest it could happen, not that it would happen then.

Isaac Newton wrote:It may end later, but I see no reason for its ending sooner. This I mention not to assert when the time of the end shall be, but to put a stop to the rash conjectures of fancifull men who are frequently predicting the time of the end, & by doing so bring the sacred prophesies into discredit as often as their predictions fail. Christ comes as a thief in the night, & it is not for us to know the times & seasons wch God hath put into his own breast.
