Not a true departure, but today my son and grandchildren are coming to stay for a week, so I will have priorities which greatly outweigh my interest in this (and any other) forum.

Leaving this time. Well, sort of. I'll respond to pms, but am otherwise gone, probably forever. The forum as a whole is becoming too politically charged and confrontational. Perhaps this is in part my fault, but i don't think any singular entity should be blamed. However, double standards of any sort really grind my dick down into a fine paste, which is why i've forsaken the ideology of conservatism long ago. Recently, i've realized that liberalism is just as bad in this regard, and maybe even worse in some respect. The very double standards inherent in liberal rhetoric are permeating this forum more and more. Outright antagonism toward unpopular beliefs are totally fine, but debating an unpopular opinion or even playing Satan's defense attorney to it is referred to as "sea-lioning" or "bigotry" by manchildren who don't want anyone to challenge their worldview, in a manner not dissimilar to the conservative practice of calling opposing views "sinful" or "degenerate". The problem lies not in the challengers, but in the defenders being huge fucking faggots.

Have a fucking educated mind, and think. This isn't just going out to the SJW Poo Poo Brigade, but to my homies that i hang out with as well. Since it's in vogue to hate Xard now, i must say that i disagree with him on many, many things; the biggest of which being homosexuality. Here's the thing: if i argued intelligently in such a way that demolished his reasoning on why it's wrong, he'd no longer think that it's wrong. He knows how to think for himself, which is more than i can say for many people here.

Think for yourselves, everyone; don't blindly jump onto any ideology. Think things through, and make your own decisions. Distance yourself from groupthink. Learn to recognize, counter, and avoid common fallacies. Think logically and creatively about everything. Overanalysis doesn't exist. It's a myth, just like kelp geese. Those little goose-ass bastards.

I haven't been around for a while (I was at an intensive Japanese School again this summer) but tomorrow I'm leaving for a year to study abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo. Before that I'll be staying with friends of my Uncle's in Yokkaiichi and then traveling the Japan Sea side of the country to see shrines and stuff. I'll post pictures when I can but I won't be around much.
