I've always hoped that FINAL will just end up being a big beach episode with a lot of dumb comedy and fanservice. Not because I'm into fanservice but because I think it would be the ultimate Anno move.

^ Well what I love about Anno/Eva is its way that it throws you off/mess with peoples expectations and divides fans...... That scenario would accomplish those goals for sure.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

One more Final in EoE was the best beach Episode in all of Anime. Maybe a bit lacking in the fan-service-department.

I think instead of resolving its plot Final should be 90 minutes of Mari and Asuka oiling up and rubbing their plugsuit clad butts together.
