I don't know how to feel about this new illustration at all and probably has nothing to do with the movie and it's "just" a great illustration.
but man sure it's weird to see Gendo and Yui together for whatever reason.

P.S. Megumi ogata assured that this new picture is not used in the main story but then joked about how "it could be..maybe.."

I'm thinking that's Yui because her hair looks brown but the dress is more like something Misato would wear.

IDK about the man since Gendo and Kaji have similar uniforms and black and dark grey are hard to tell apart in a rough sketch.
But it would make sense if it were Misato & Kaji since Asuka is also in the foreground with them.
I don't see the ponitail but maybe he cut it over the timeskip?

It's funny to see everyone here looking for subtle "plot clues" and the artwork is Shinji and the Eva cast getting together to have a picnic to stare at Unit 01 (the movie) and Shinji is invited the viewer (the artists who made the film) to come join their picnic (seeing the completed movie in a theater together).

It's a cute picture made to honor the staff. Nothing indicative of what occurs in the movie. Asuka is probably holding a blanket to place on the ground. Kaworu is holding a bottle of wine to share or something.

Yes, Thank You. Considering how watertight the information has been kept secret for almost a decade now, I'd doubt they approve the release of this poster if it had any major spoilers in it.
Either way, it's a super cute illustration, it reminds me of the first Eureka Seven ED.

Is this a moment representative of any scene in the film? Most likely not. It's an illustration for this cast+staff screening. But this isn't the first time we get hints of a more hopeful Evangelion. I think there's a reason this was shown to us. Pretty surprising to me, like the One Last Kiss CD cover.

Matsui-san said he also cried after watching Shin Eva yesterday, at this point I don't know if I ever get more excited for a film than this. It's pretty usual for a staff to gush about a work they're involved in but seeing the other staffs tweeting about the same thing is just really wholesome. I appreciate Khara's move in being more transparent about Shin Eva's production from start to finish, especially after years of uncertainty and rumors. Really refreshing to get infos and tidbits right from the source.

Considering the amount of people crying because they watched Shin Evangelion I guess the movie is pretty "artistic", sharing more in common with EoTV, EoE and Q, at least those were the Evangelion that I sincerely cannot describe with only words (the same as to what a Khara worker said about Shin) because there's so much information packed into it!

That’s when you should see the new colors on the plugsuit and other changes I guess. Also whatever other new changes or surprises to bring the film closer in line with Thrice Upon A Time.

Thoughts:
Part of me doesn't want additional scenes, the film is so tight, the runtime and its structure seem to be very intentional. But we'll see. OTOH, it's not like 3.33 will disappear.

I still think Asuka OG 3.0 plug suit fits the themes of the film better by being a bigger break. But it's ultimately minor in the grand scheme of things.

This means more money to be spent, but since it's a limited release this BD might come real fast. Great to make the wait for Shin more bearable!

So this cut was made, or started, in 2018 and I’m curious to see what other changes were made besides the plug-suits. I’m expecting a lot but mostly all small visual/design thing. Hopefully it’s not all just cosmetic though. I Would very much welcome but wouldn’t expect them to have added new scenes to the film. I’ve always felt the film could use one more scene between Kaworu & Shinji that is purely about their characters and not the grander plot. But again, I don’t think there will be anything new like that.

It’s a good thing the cuts aren’t too different from each other cause having talks like “No Eva 3.3333 is my favorite cut, not Eva 3.33333!” Would be hilarious

No, I think he's talking about the bottom image, showing what appears to be an alternate perspective of the Fourth Impact scene. I certainly don't remember that shot.

Yeah, I'll have to check the movie. There have got to be at least a few differences in these screenshots.

Pretty sure that shot is when the sky portal first opens up. It just happens really fast in the cut. BUT it could be altered.

The re-release of 3.0 as "3.333" does indicate, that 3.0+1.0 will be called "3.33+1.11" for the BD and DVD releases. Better keep the changes only in looks than to add more scenes, so there is no need to watch future special cuts for the rebuild films, to get it what 'll happen in 3.0+1.0.
