but man sure it's weird to see Gendo and Yui together for whatever reason.

P.S. Megumi ogata assured that this new picture is not used in the main story but then joked about how "it could be..maybe.."

"Gendo was the good guy all along."

Wait was that part of the tweet?

This made the "big Budget Congratulations Ending" just a tiny bit likelier...

I'm thinking that's Yui because her hair looks brown but the dress is more like something Misato would wear.

IDK about the man since Gendo and Kaji have similar uniforms and black and dark grey are hard to tell apart in a rough sketch.
But it would make sense if it were Misato & Kaji since Asuka is also in the foreground with them.
I don't see the ponitail but maybe he cut it over the timeskip?

It's a cute picture made to honor the staff. Nothing indicative of what occurs in the movie. Asuka is probably holding a blanket to place on the ground. Kaworu is holding a bottle of wine to share or something.

Yes, Thank You. Considering how watertight the information has been kept secret for almost a decade now, I'd doubt they approve the release of this poster if it had any major spoilers in it.
Either way, it's a super cute illustration, it reminds me of the first Eureka Seven ED.

Is this a moment representative of any scene in the film? Most likely not. It's an illustration for this cast+staff screening. But this isn't the first time we get hints of a more hopeful Evangelion. I think there's a reason this was shown to us. Pretty surprising to me, like the One Last Kiss CD cover.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."

If you mean the text at the bottom of the movie title:

Translation: First screening meeting

Or the text at the bottom of the illustration:

Ikuto Yamashita also has seen Shin Eva + New Eva-08 artwork, said it's only for coloring reference or rather a draft.

Yeah, those eyes are quite something. If not for the pink coating, it would've fully freaked the hell out of me.

Also, here's an AMAZING photo of Yusuke Matsui (Q and Shin's CG director) and Anno having one hell of a good time in Universal Studio Japan. :D

Matsui-san said he also cried after watching Shin Eva yesterday, at this point I don't know if I ever get more excited for a film than this. It's pretty usual for a staff to gush about a work they're involved in but seeing the other staffs tweeting about the same thing is just really wholesome. I appreciate Khara's move in being more transparent about Shin Eva's production from start to finish, especially after years of uncertainty and rumors. Really refreshing to get infos and tidbits right from the source.

Considering the amount of people crying because they watched Shin Evangelion I guess the movie is pretty "artistic", sharing more in common with EoTV, EoE and Q, at least those were the Evangelion that I sincerely cannot describe with only words (the same as to what a Khara worker said about Shin) because there's so much information packed into it!
I never understood why people hate the Rebuild because it's different and love the Series, can we just love it all without creating dilemmas and unnecessary discussions?
SPOILER: Show
Be careful of 3.0+1.0 spoilers

Bye bye all of Evangelion and Evageeks.

Evangelion: 3.333 You Can (Not) Redo getting an IMAX run Jan 8, 2021. Note the extra 3.

That’s when you should see the new colors on the plugsuit and other changes I guess. Also whatever other new changes or surprises to bring the film closer in line with Thrice Upon A Time.

Well, I guess I was wrong. We're getting an inexplicable plugsuit retcon after all!

3.333 is a hilarious title though. Can't wait until the 8K release, when we'll have 1.1111, 2.2222, and 3.3333.

Thoughts:
Part of me doesn't want additional scenes, the film is so tight, the runtime and its structure seem to be very intentional. But we'll see. OTOH, it's not like 3.33 will disappear.

I still think Asuka OG 3.0 plug suit fits the themes of the film better by being a bigger break. But it's ultimately minor in the grand scheme of things.

This means more money to be spent, but since it's a limited release this BD might come real fast. Great to make the wait for Shin more bearable!

Weird choice to show 3.33 last week?

This might be when a new trailer comes. Jauary 8.

Now for these screenshots:

Image
Bottom Eva-13 shot...is that a new shot? I've seen the film countless time and can't recall it. Time to whip out the storyboard.
Edit: It's not. Didn't even use the storyboard. It's right when Eva-13 generates those red rings.

Google translation from the Khara website: '

2018 "EVANGELION: 3.33" 2K conversion project started in earnest. In producing "Shin Evangelion Theatrical Version", the environment inside the studio color photography department was raised, and under the full supervision of Director Hideaki Anno, all cuts were re-photographed in 2K full size. Different from ": 3.0" and ": 3.33", higher-definition images that could not be expressed at that time were realized.
The IMAX® screening will maximize the appeal of the further evolved "Q: 3.333", which has undergone some retakes along with the re-shooting.
A commentary article by Ryusuke Hikawa will be published on the official website of "Evangelion" soon!

.
https://www.khara.co.jp/2020/12/23/eva_imax/

So this cut was made, or started, in 2018 and I’m curious to see what other changes were made besides the plug-suits. I’m expecting a lot but mostly all small visual/design thing. Hopefully it’s not all just cosmetic though. I Would very much welcome but wouldn’t expect them to have added new scenes to the film. I’ve always felt the film could use one more scene between Kaworu & Shinji that is purely about their characters and not the grander plot. But again, I don’t think there will be anything new like that.

It’s a good thing the cuts aren’t too different from each other cause having talks like “No Eva 3.3333 is my favorite cut, not Eva 3.33333!” Would be hilarious

Pretty sure that's from when Eva-13 descends into the ruins of Central Dogma to retrieve the spears and begin Fourth Impact.
Also, Shinji and Kaworu's activation scene looks a bit different.. Something about the background is certaintly different from the original.

No, I think he's talking about the bottom image, showing what appears to be an alternate perspective of the Fourth Impact scene. I certainly don't remember that shot.

Yeah, I'll have to check the movie. There have got to be at least a few differences in these screenshots.

EDIT: Actually, checking the movie, the background in the activation is there in the original. I didn't remember that weird background either, so I don't blame you.

Pretty sure that shot is when the sky portal first opens up. It just happens really fast in the cut. BUT it could be altered.

The re-release of 3.0 as "3.333" does indicate, that 3.0+1.0 will be called "3.33+1.11" for the BD and DVD releases. Better keep the changes only in looks than to add more scenes, so there is no need to watch future special cuts for the rebuild films, to get it what 'll happen in 3.0+1.0.
