All right, first, a little bit of background. Cevdet Mehmet Kosemen is a Turkish science-fiction writer whose works frequently deal with themes of biology, evolution, and humanity's place in nature. He is also fairly well known, at least in internet circles, for his highly unconventional alien designs, many of which are from his planet-building project called Snaiad.
Recently, he made a long video dealing with the natural, mythical, and man-made inspirations behind the Angels in Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's well worth watching for anyone who's a fan of the series, provided you have an hour and a half to spare.
