I also agree whole heartedly with NTC The only thing I ever enjoyed from JJ was the series "Fringe" I thought the Jedi/Sith became a bit
over the top powerful with each succeeding installment of the franchise. JMHO YMMV

Imaishi Star Wars is a dream come true and as delicious as I envisioned.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."

I finished watching it on Disney plus. It’s a really good series, and I’m hungry for more. Star Wars and anime? That’s one of the best thing Disney had thought of.
I do agree. This has a major Astro Boy vibe to it.

The Book of Boba Fett trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOJ1cw6mohw
Been hoping for a Fett project since my early childhood.
Was pissed about the James Mangold (logan, 310 to yuma) Fett movie not happening but this looks more than good enough.

Caught a little bit of Rise of Skywalker and couldn't help but giggle at how Rey and Poe having an argument takes us back to Han and Leia territory on Empire Strikes Back.

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
Anyone watching Book of Boba Fett? General consensus seems to be that it's disappointing up until the last 3 episodes and Robert Rodriguez has apparently completely lost the ability to direct good action.
I am way behind on Mandalorian.
Spoilery poster!

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
Yeah, in all honesty, it sucked. Instead of it , it should have just been a couple of episodes in the next season of .
Hopefully the Star Wars D+ experiment turns around and Boba just becomes the Iron Man 2 of The New New Star Wars.
SPOILER: Show
being a series that suddenly veers into being a season 2.5 of another show
SPOILER: Show
Mando
SPOILER: Show
Like, the idea was interesting but the series lacked commitment and since it wasn't willing to actually fulfill its premise. So like, they made a show about a crime boss who never does any crime bossing and ended up making half of it about another character entirely. During the pitch phase someone should have just said "this a Disney show that's a spinoff of a show with a cute puking baby who eats bugs. We're not going to do a hard hitting crime drama in space, so let's just not do this at all".

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
Boba's backstory was kind of interesting to see although it would probably have worked just as fine as a flashback episode in the mando series, rather than dedicate its own series to it.
A lot felt lackluster, like on paper it all seemed a good idea, but once started filming realizing there really isn't that much to tell (at least, if not willing to go full crimeboss-story). And so you get odd little filler characters like those power-ranger mod dudes on their colorful slow-ass vespa speeders. Not once did i care one bit about these characters.
Cad Bane was cool though and the Rancor was too. It's just a collection of small cool things that don't manage to make a coherent whole.
And then the last few episodes it focusses back on Mando (kind of confirming what i just said, no idea how to tell this story, so add in fillers, or in this case, episodes from another show).
And thankfully that has made this show not suck entirely.
I can easily rewatch the mando series, but i would skip boba and only rewatch the last episodes for the mando content.

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
I enjoyed the Book of Boba Fett about as much as I enjoyed the Mandalorian. I guess we’ll see when season 3 comes out.
Anywho, who’s ready for Kenobi coming next weekend?
SPOILER: Show
It was really nice to see Din Djarin and Grogu again. And their reunion is the most wholesome scene ever. The way he jumps into Daddy Mando’s arms So cute for words. And that final scene with Grogu wanting his daddy to go fast was the icing to the cake.

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
Even though I have only seen The Last Jedi once, I am already of the opinion that it's the best one of the sequel trilogy just by having a strong belief in the matter and I should watch it slightly more than Force Awakens but indeed way more than Rise of Skywalker.
While on the subject, I really loved the way Kevin Smith aka Silent Bob in Clerks put together a short basis of how Empire Strikes Back was a better ending than Return of the Jedi pointing out that real life is like Empire which is a series of down notes such as Han being frozen in carbonite, Vader cutting Luke's hand off and revealing that he is Dad Vader as Mark Hamill so affectionately calls him in talk shows while all Return of the Jedi had was Muppets.

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
I liked Kenobi. It was dumb. It was "unnecessary". It didn't make a hell of a lot of sense continuity wise. It was really fun and did something interesting with the character, though, and I enjoyed it.
I hope these stop milking these interquel stories, but if they don't, I hope they come out fun to watch, at least.

I hated Kenobi. Like every story that has been made since Disney bought the rights to it, it was already done before and better. Also the camerawork was giving my a headache, like seriously just hold that God damn thing still would you?

^I know you may not like it, but I think we can all agree the duel between Obi-Wan and Vader is the best part of the series.

There seems to be a concerted, and largely successful, effort to make Darth Vader scary again.

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
It most certainly is but it isn't a very high bar to reach considering the rest of the show really flounders.

If we're still on the subject of Kenobi, I have to disagree. He talks way too much, throws tantrums almost as bad as Kylo does, and his fighting just isn't imposing like it is in, say, Rogue One where he slaughters an entire squad of Rebels with ease. Vader definitely is quick to anger, but he normally would let his ominous presence speak for him, and he should've just snapped Reva's neck at the first show of failure instead of giving her a chance for an excuse. Kenobi is six episodes long and Darth Vader doesn't actually show up until episode 6.

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
I disagree.
I suppose it's a matter of personal taste.
SPOILER: Show
Both his initial fight with Obi-Wan where he drags Kenobi into the flames and tortures him and the bit where he just completely schools Reva were enthralling to me.
I suppose it's a matter of personal taste.
Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
I agree with that notion. Vader is truly a force to be reckoned with, and they did a good job with that portrayal. The scenes between him and Obi-Wan just feels so personal, like Vader has pent up rage towards his former master. Honestly, they feel epic.
