Fear not, I think a lot of us are more accustomed to using Tunneliel cause it's been around since the trailers came out then the real name ( don't even know it ) came out in the movie I think.

Didn't Kaji engrishly explain how they found it under the permafrost (I'm guessing somewhere in eastern Europe) in the opening sequence?

It was hard to hear what he was saying from the camrip audio quality.

I must say, I do feel bad for the poor Adam. Sleeping till it had to awaken and search for mother where I would assume it would get destroyed anyway by NERV. Better to go out in a battle that you started then to have them taking you apart. But that is Lilim to play with things unknown to you.

They found the Angel in the permafrost, brought him to Bethanian Bay,studied him in a deep NERV plant.but they failed at the contamination. When realized this,he just wanted to escape(To Achearon?BTW what is that stuff?) so Mari had to destroy it.

(Actually, there was the Marduk Agency too.But if the Marduk is just a dummy, why do they need it?Curse you,Anno!:pwnd: ).

At 1:10 in this video we finally get a really clear look at Tunniel/Boneiel. In nigh photorealistic 3D, even. The mechanical contraption it uses to walk interests me greatly, as it seems to show that this Angel is biomechanical.

As for the whispers, I never thought of them as anything but someone in the audience.

^ Oh, so THAT'S what Tunniel actually looks like.

Huh. Wouldn't have guessed that ball thing was what he(or she) was runnin' on.

That's really awesome! I could never find clear images of this angel, I really like the design, gave me the creeps in a good way as I happen to like weird, bony things.

Man those panchinko games are weird with the scenarios they give. That's what also makes them interesting though.

Very much so, I kind of wondered how the Sachiel or Shamshel fight would have changed if Units 00 or 02 were used instead of 01.

Anyways, until Gainax releases the official names anyone wish to speculate the names of Tunny and Clocky? I have a feeling Clockiel will be named Othniel (Hour of God), the reason why should be obvious. :toothy: As for Tunniel's name my only guess is Kushiel, named after the angel the punishes people in Hell because the Bethany Base had sections of itself named after Hell and I figured "fitting?" Are there any angels of winter? Tariel is considered the angel of summer so likewise there should be an opposite. I say this because it might be his name since he was found in permafrost and all.

Anyone else have their own "guess names"?

You know, even on the big screen i still couldn't see the Angel Mari fights right at the start.

I could only see it when she killed it. Through the tunnel and when the Angel started going upwards out of where ever she was fighting it, couldn't see it's full body all that well.

The 3rd angel was dark in the tunnels, there wasn't much light in there and there wasn't a shot of the entire angel until it got freed from the tunnel and used its ATF to cut a hole in the ceiling. That scene was pretty clear. When I wrote my impressions back when I saw the movie in Japan, it all happened really fast and even after multiple viewings I found myself getting caught up in the pace of the movie so the distinct visuals themselves tend to get pushed to the secondary. But the scene where the angel gets out of the tunnel and cuts the hole above it to get free was probably the best shot of the entire 3rd angel. Even when it was above ground, you didn't get a good look at the whole thing.

Plus that's not actually what the Third Angel originally looked like.

Didn't Nerv vivisect the poor thing before it got loose?
"Crapsack worlds and anti heroes have their place. Sometimes, they are very necessary. But an endless diet of dreary cyberpunk and dark fantasy won't do us any more favors than an endless feast of glurge. I'd argue that the cynical nature of these really hurt our ability to hope and work for better. It gets us to accept the hopelessness and jaded outlook of things as 'That's the way it is. I can't change it,' and stops us from fighting when we NEED to fight."

The analysis holding the permafrost extration of the Third Angels was so extensive, what was left were the bones.
