If Kensuke had the balls(and I think he does) and got up close, and proceeded to CUT THAT B___H UP, he would win. I can easily see Asuka doing the same, but not Rei.

Now, Asuka could do it, but that's because she's a psycho too. This is why NERV picks strange people for their pilots, because they're more effective. I'm sure Rei could do it as well if she had to, just look at episode #1.

Chances are he'd survive it but the Eva would take some massive punishment. A lot of the Angels go down easily once the weakness is divined by the pilot. The thing is, Shinji and Asuka are so emotional they don't think about this. Then it comes to them as they go all out on the angel. Rei is just plain complacent.

Kensuke however would be alert and thinking clearly since he's the most unf_cked up of all of them.

The angels go down easily once NERV finishes strategizing for 8 hours. I don't see any part where it goes down easily due to pilots seeing specific weaknesses.

And after Kensuke got his Eva's arm blown off he wouldn't be in a condition to avoid getting killed.

Pretty much my point.

And they manage to fail even at that. Like I said, if they put an able and willing person with a lust for blood into an Eva, the angels would get thrashed hardcore.

However, Asuka:

-too emotional and angry
-too excitable
-choke artist(as in chokes up at the worst times and often)

Shinji:

-Waxes emotional at the worst of times
-Flashbacks.
-severely depressed

Rei:

-is a Emo Girl Doll. Enough said.

Actually, they did. Specifically Bruce Timm (the character designer behind those shows).
