Hello. I just had a question about the Medicom RAH EVA-01 reissue. I am thinking of finally spending the money on the 01, it would be a great centerpiece surrounded by my Eva Damashii collection.

It looks like there are two versions: RAH-597 Feb 2013 release and the RAH-651 May 2014 release.

Dose anybody know if any of the issues that are especially present on the early releases (loose joints, inner elbow ripping, fabric suit bunching/tearing) have been updated in the reissue (in the way that the later Eva's seem to have been with thicker fabric under suit, etc.) or is it exactly the same as the original release?

I’m just trying to decide which version would be the best to buy.

It's a bit both. I'm dying for a better (much larger) figurine of Q Misato. She deserves it. Preferably one with her attire before Mark.09 punches through the Wunder. I can never get enough of Shinji, as usually he's the most neglected of the pilots when it comes to merchandise. I want Shin-can in a bathing suit....or nekkid

True but I'm talking about out of the main cast and Shin, out of the three principal pilots, doesn't get much love when it comes to figurines and merchandise. You've should've seen how many folks were ecstatic for Q figures of Puppy boy when they were first announced.

I wouldn't say there's lots of Shinji figures post-3.0. There's still incredibly few compared to the girls and with far less consistent quality.

As for a fanservice Shin-chan figure, I would propose this:

Strip the plugsuits off and instead dress them up as this:



And when you combine them with these existing figures




You have a complete 5 pilot set including the main character

There's the RAH figures, but they're huge, hard to pose, and the Shinji RAH is absolutely terrifying.

As you can see, he's disturbingly skeletal. Looks like Shinji's been malnourished as well as emotionally neglected.

There is an old Volks figure, but it is also huge, you have to assemble/paint it yourself, and it's pretty rare. On the plus side, it's mildly less horrific than the RAH.
