No. Judau is the one that started all the "Messiah Newtype Feats". Yes, I said it. Just enjoy the fights that don't involve him, or at least the bits featuring Neo Zeon mecha porn.

It does, but there are times when those moments get awfully sour. RahX seemed to me the sort of series that could have been so much better than what it was - and tossed away the chance. Although I admit that the series could be seen as an excellent interpretation of Ayn Rand's objectivist philosophy (which I don't like).

AR-99: Do watch Death Note when you have the time. The first half of the series is nothing short of awesome.

The first ep was an amusing little experiment, with the whole part one: No Yuko, part two: Yuko included deal.
Kinda disappointing none of the other episodes followed suit, although one could imagine this would have been a nightmare to write for.

The show had a distinctly… SHAFT style about it, don’t you think?

Oh, I just noticed there’s an OVA… save me the time and effort please- does it suck a lot, or just a little?

Not everyone agrees; I couldn't stand it any more after about episode 15 (and haven't viewed beyond that at all); and it had been going seriously downhill in my view some time before that.

Yeah, especially in the first few Episodes the atmosphere is just mesmerizing. And you just have to love the soothing, eerie voice of Ayato's mum.

You know, I'm really torn on that tissue.
SPOILER: Show
That last ep hit really close to home in a number of ways, which made it remarkably effective as far as YOU NEED TO BE SAD NOW goes--so when I figured it'd end on that note, I was definitely thinking GEE THIS FUCKING SUCKS BUT IT'S A FITTING ENDING, TIME FOR THE BOURBON NOW. When the last couple of seconds pulled its sudden reversal of all that, at first I considered it a cheap shot, almost like how Abenobashi Shopping Arcade's last ten minutes effectively ruined the entire message of the show. But you know what?

Yuuko's too much fun for me to even care. Plus, I picked this show up after a stupid fanservice thread on /a/, and given that I've been under a mild amount of stress lately, I just wanted something stupidly fun and entertaining to pollute my brain with. I didn't expect it to send me spiraling into my own nostalgic wounds and digging my own shit up with its pretty impressive Jung-flavored ghost stories. The fact it managed to be successful on both counts, AND develop a main character I can root for seems amazing. This was not the show I expected or signed up for at all, but I don't regret that in the slightest.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Most of the episodes had some pretty creative ways of going about depicting things, and sometimes they worked (like here) and sometimes they were a little too hodge-podged or rushed (like the one with the Red Lady thing about halfway through the show).

ON that note, the show's overall direction did come across as rather Shaft-like, but it's likely because the director and storyboarder has worked with Shinbo on a number of Shaft projects.
Chaz wrote:Oh, I just noticed there’s an OVA… save me the time and effort please- does it suck a lot, or just a little?
It's an extra almost 100% comedy episode, but I'd say it's worth checking out. Kirei tries to intentionally steal the OP from Yuuko, but she fails.

I kind of feel sorry for Kirei.

seeing as how he's the only interesting thing about the show, you might be in for a rough time.
Nothing is so valuable that it need not be started afresh, nothing is so rich that it need not be enriched constantly.

Well, the teen pilots are probably worse, but 'trickster mentor' types really just bore me.

Well, her hair is dyed iirc but from what I gather I don't think the writer has the balls to go with full incest ending. Either it's going to end not blood related or an open end with just undertones.
