It sounded like we weren't going to get another stage, but low and behold, Sadamoto delievered, and Bochan translated.

So far, contributing to Eva Manga volume 10, we have stages 63-67, which is a total of four. Meaning we've got 3-4 left in this volume, as all the volumes thus far have been 7-8 stages long. We're halfway through, and if Sadamoto does well, we may have volume 10 over here by the end of the year if we're lucky.

Stage 67: Twisted/Perverse Night

Cover: Seele monoliths in a circle

Scene: Seele monoliths
Seele 01: At long last the promised time draws near.
Now there remains only one Angel which is described in
the Dead Sea Scrolls.
(Image of SDSS against a background of the various
Angels. The ancient document has some indecipherable
writing and the Seele mark (inverted triangle with
seven eyes) on the cover.)
Seele 08: But the journey has been long, and with much
sacrifice.
Seele 13: Indeed. Following the Lance of Longinus, we
have lost Eva-00, and now New Tokyo-3 has also been
annihilated. This is more than sufficient reason to
dismiss Ikari.
Seele ??: A foolish man. Surely he must understand the
significance of Fuyutsuki being returned alive.....
Seele ??: A new human sacrifice is needed, against
Ikari.
(Keel's face appears in the darkness.)
Keel: And, one to know the truth.

Scene: Nerv HQ pyramid -- Kaworu's room.
(Kaworu lies on his bed reading, while Shinji sits on
the floor staring vacantly in front of the TV, which
shows a man and woman about to embrace each other.
There is no conversation until Kaworu glances over at
Shinji.)
Kaworu: How much longer do you plan to stay here? You
don't intend to go home at all, do you?
Shinji (subdued): ..... I don't want to go home. I'm
afraid.
Kaworu: Afraid? Why?
Shinji: Because if I go home, I'll surely have to face
Ayanami's death... If I go home, surely... Misato must
also be grieving. But Misato will no doubt try her best
to comfort me. And that will make it even more painful
for me.
(Kaworu says nothing)

Shinji: And it's not just Misato. The others must be
sad as well. So if I go there I will just be more
acutely aware of Ayanami's death. But... I feel as if
being alone will crush me, which is even scarier, so
that's why here is best.
(Kaworu says nothing)
Shinji: Because you are the only one who is not
grieving over Ayanami.
Kaworu (laughing softly at first and then louder):
Kuku... Ahahahahahaha! Ahaha!
(Kaworu smirks and puts his arm around Shinji's
shoulder.)
Kaworu (teasingly): So you hate me, but you are
comfortable here? You say some pretty funny things.
(Shinji does not respond. Kaworu removes his arm in
slight exasperation and rolls over on the bed to face
the wall so that his back is towards Shinji.)
Kaworu: Fine, do as you like. Suit yourself. ..... Feel
free to use half of the bed.

Scene: Misato's apartment
PenPen (flapping his arms/wings and squawking): GYAA!!
GYAAA!! GYAAA!!
Misato (slumped over her desk): Uuuunnnhh...
PenPen: GYAA!! GYAA!! GYAAA!!
Misato: Ah, sorry, PenPen. I haven't given you dinner
yet.
(Misato scoops up PenPen and heads toward the kitchen.
They look in Shinji's room, but the room is empty.)
Misato (thinking): It's been three days since it
happened, and he still hasn't come home... And here I
thought he'd come to me, especially when he is
suffering. I guess I'm a failure as a guardian. No...
It's me who wishes he were here by my side...
(The phone rings)
Misato (answering phone): Yes, hello? (eyes open wide
in surprise) What....!?

Scene: Kaworu's room
(Shinji and Kaworu sleeping side by side on Kaworu's
bed. Shinji's back is turned to Kaworu. Shinji's
cellphone which is plugged in and charging on the table
starts to vibrate with a buzzing sound, but instead of
waking, Shinji quivers and gasps as if having a bad
dream.
Shinji: Unh.....
(Kaworu opens his eyes and turns to look at Shinji who
is gasping and clutching at the sheets.
Shinji: Haa, Haa,... Haa, Haa, Aah... Haa... Haa,
Haa...
Kaworu (sits up, thinking): He's hyperventilating
again... (speaking) Umm... (raising hand to forehead
and thinking) I'd better get a bag or something...
(Insert image of Shinji breathing into a paper bag)
Shinji: Fu... u... Haa, Haa
(Kaworu looks over at Shinji thoughtfully, then reaches
over and rolls Shinji over onto his back. Shinji's eyes
are open, but he is suffering from severe
hyperventilation and unable to move. Kaworu reaches for
Shinji's face, appears to pinch (plug) Shinji's nose
with one hand, and then places his mouth over Shinji's.
Shinji clutches at Kaworu's shirt, but Kaworu holds
that position for a short while and then pulls back
from Shinji, who looks weakly up at him with somewhat
more regular breathing (although still panting
slightly).)
Shinji: Wha...
Kaworu (pleased with himself): Aha, your breathing has
more or less settled down. It doesn't need to be a bag.

Shinji (pushing Kaworu away): What are you doing!
Kaworu (nonplussed): Hey, how does it feel?
(Shinji, still panting slightly, sits up and stares at
Kaworu in shock and surprise)
Kaworu: How does it feel when a person comes to like
another person?
(The TV shows the same couple from earlier, but kissing
now) Kaworu: Wanting to touch them. Wanting to kiss
them. Not wanting to lose them. What does it feel like?

Shinji (flustered): What are you saying, all of a
sudden...
Kaworu (thoughtful): When we fought that Angel, First's
thoughts and feelings flowed into me.
(Shinji = shocked)
Kaworu: A tepid, sticky, disgusting feeling that seemed
to slowly constrict my chest... Is that "like/love"?
(Shinji stares speechless at Kaworu)
Kaworu: If something like that was aimed at oneself,
how would that feel? If you came to like/love me,
(reaches out towards Shinji's cheek) I wonder how that
would feel?
Shinji (shocked): Ba(ka)..... (knocks Kaworu's hand
away) Guys don't like/love other guys!
Kaworu (upset): Why do you hate me so much?
Shinji: Because you do strange things!
(Just then Shinji's cellphone starts vibrating again.
Shinji jumps over and answers it, thankful for the
interruption.)
Shinji: Hello? (downcast) Oh... Misato... ...yes
(surprised) What!? Ayanami... She's alive?

Scene: Nerv HQ hospital
(Rei stands in an outer corridor with one hand against
the window glass, looking expressionlessly outside at
the Geofront but mostly seeing her bandaged reflection
in the glass. Shinji and Misato come running down the
corridor.)
Shinji/Misato: Ayanami!
(Rei turns to face them. Misato holds back slightly as
Shinji approaches Rei.)
Shinji: Ayanami... (relieved) Thank goodness... Thank
goodness you're alive. Really. (wipes tears from eyes)
Don't... don't ever do anything that reckless again!
Rei: ..... What do you mean?
Shinji (surprised): What do I mean...? You saved me,
even by self-destructing Eva-00.
Rei (emotionless): I see... I saved you.
Shinji: .....!? You don't remember?
Rei: No, I don't know that. Because I think, probably,
I am the third.

Bleh, what is Sadamoto trying to accomplish by having Shinji merely tell himself that he wouldn't want to have Misato try to 'comfort' him, instead of actually having the scene take place?! The story is just so FUBAR.
On the other hand, he does seem to be setting us up for Ritsuko's fall (tho, by now, I'm not ready to take anything for granted...) Also, it is interesting that he has Rei call herself "the third", considering how he glossed over what actually happened to Naoko.

You'd only just realised that? The penny dropped by Stage 54 for me.

Actually, I was quite surprised, given the negative vibes earlier between Shinji and Kaworu that they would be in a situation where the latter can try "the Kiss of Life" (yeah, right). The yaoi fan-girls will be joining the A/S shippers on the warpath.

Quite a fair way. The average fanfic has worse art and much more Shinji gettin' it on with Asuka. Even if you restrict to Rei/Shinji fics, the art still sets it apart.

Well guys Asuka is in hospital,she can't get off the bed immediatelly..And vol.10 is not completed yet,you never know what Sadamoto has in his mind..

I know that, but they never even mentioned her in the chapter at all. It appears that Shinji doesn't have any feelings for her, at least not as much as in the anime.

This kinda reminds me of a fanfic I read where Rei woke up on the beach next to Shinji instead of Asuka... In that story, Shinji never had any feelings for Asuka, and instead he let Rei move in with him in Misato's apartment. He even let her take Asuka's bedroom without a thought on it's former occupant...

Not very.

I think someone previously mentioned that they'd read fanfic with better characterisation than the manga. I'd hafta agree (I really, really hate the manga)

Stage 68 appears to be out - an intro-page has been posted on a-l-s.com/general. Apparently this concludes volume 10.

Stage 68 is much more like the anime. Except for Shinji to ask himself and Misato a lot about what it meant for Rei to say she was the 3rd, and that she felt different. And also because he goes back home after being with Kaworu in the same room. There's something about Kaworu I quite didn't understand, but guess BB's translation might come soon to solve this.
