Hey everyone

Hate to admit, but I am a n00b to Eva figures, but through my research I've placed a preorder for a Figma Rei.

Now I'm looking to fill out my collection with Units 00, 01, 02, and possibly 03 and 05.

So, for those just looking to start out their collections, what do you recommend we do?
Go for all one company? or mix and match?

RD has the problem of having exclusive figures that don't make it easy on those of us who are trying to just start collecting.

EvaEvos however have the Angel displays instead of little things like Pellet rifles, Axe for Unit 02, etc.

I have roughly $50 to work with so as much as I'd like to I cannot afford to make my collection of all Spec figures.

With any luck, I'd like this thread to be here for all the new guys looking to start their collections with the community's idea of a good way to start them.

Finally a review! Been searching for one since I preordered mine. And yeesh, is it just me or is Rei's angry face scarier than Asuka's? Asuka looks angry, Rei though, she looks evil.

Thanks guys,

I've been reading the figure threads for a few days now, and its a lot of Revoltech vs RD. But nothing for a new guy looking in, hence why this thread was started.

So now I've got Units 00 01 02 and The Beast ordered. Hopefully in a few weeks I can get Awakening 01 and 03.

Yeah like everyone else who's already replied, Revoltechs are the way to go if you dont have too much money to spend. Check out the sales going on at Hobby Link Japan. [url]http://www.hlj.com/[/url] They're currently having sales on Eva Evo Unit 01 and 02. I'd say only explore other figure options if your not happy with the Revoltech figures.

I have my doubts Shane. Speaking of....I'm still on the fence with getting RD Eva Unit 01 Awakening. I'm beginning to get a little tired of Evas altogether, whether it be the newest Revoltech or RD figure. If the Bandai ever comes to making RD Unit 05....it had better look damn good otherwise i aint biting.

P.S.

My Revoltech Unit 05 suffered damage recently. My idiot brother knocked it off my desk along with some heavy text books that landed right ontop of the figure. The result? Broken power collectors/antenna. Fool....

It's part of Bandai's greater plot! Destroy the competitiom from inside out!
When you notice, you'll only have the RD's left... God thing mine is kept at bay being outnumbered...

Also, according to the HLJ description of the pre-order page of EvaEvo 03, the Eva 01 head can be placed in the EvaEvo 01 figure AND it can open it's mouth!

...My Rei figma is estimated to arrive in June from BigBadToyStore, it's still listed as pre-order. I guess it makes sense because it's a company getting many quantities of the product from Japan, but...
