It doesn't look like a translation error because they called it "Adam" on other occasions.
Please, explain.

Adam or Lilith?
I've watched all 26 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion, End of Evangelion, Death and Rebirth and both of the Rebuilds.
In all of them Adam is this:
However, I've recently been reading the Evangelion manga and I found this:
It doesn't look like a translation error because they called it "Adam" on other occasions.
Please, explain.

Kaji and Misato both thought Lilith was Adam, making us believe it was Adam, and Kaworu was the first person to correctly identify the being in Terminal Dogma as Lilith.

If you don't remember, in episode 24, Kaworu comes to a realization that the being in Terminal Dogma is in fact Lilith, and this is also affirmed in End of Evangelion. Adam is best associated with two things: The Giant of Light, and The Embryo Kaji delivers to Gendo.

I never read the manga. Well, actually, I did, but it was taking so long to finish I forgot about it and threw it away because it was scaring me there hanging on my book shelf.
