Yea maybe not so much with the dubbing part, but I literally predicted the future, and Dataprime and anyone else who said NGE re-release and blu-ray, it is so amazing that we can all actually be right and now we have something to look forward too in regards to the original series.

I wonder what else on this thread will be true....

Well that's one wish off my list. I just hope I'll be able to afford the Blu-rei set. :marihearts:

I predict Anno will feast on manifold sorrows and assume his true form as Anno-Ra.

My prediction is that in either the upcoming spring, summer, or fall anime season, they will reair the series (in HD) on TV. They did it with Nadia when it came out on Bluray, so it is just as possible with NGE.

I'm still disappointed that we don't have hoverboards yet, but NGE and EoE on blu ray will hopefully make up for it

Next guess: Evangelion starts streaming on Hulu after Funimation gets the rights.

Well my next guess is that we will get a preview of Shin, and 3.0 comes out in English.Either in this last month of 2014 or any time durning 2015.

I am really glad I found out about Evangelion before it's 20th anniversary, and also before the year that at least the original series takes place.

Doesn't the first part of NTE take place in 2017? (Jo and Ha that is).

Given the rerelease of the series back on DVD. Do you guys think we will see the original series back on American television sometime in the near future?

Who knows? Adult Swim is pretty much the only channel it would air on. Since their isn't really a market for anime on NA TV anymore.

Well, Eva is pretty much the only product other than Akira or Studio Ghibli films that can carry an audience outside of Japan.

I meant like a serious, adult audience who views it with a critical eye and is seeking to get something more out of it, than just three to seven seasons of entertainment.

I like Dragonball as much as the next guy. Doesn't mean I think it's good for discussing things like existential philosophy or depression. It's all frosting and no cake. We all know the biggest villain in DBZ isn't Frieza or Cell, but Goku's Bordeline Psychopathic Desire To Fight and Vegeta's Inflated Ego. Lord knows we've gotten over it because it also has excellent comedy and awesome fights and explosions.

(Seriously, why didn't Vegeta just take the Dragonballs when he was back on earth while Goku was training on Planet Yardrat? Getting the Dragonballs and becoming immortal was his entire motivation before then, why would it change all of a sudden for no given reason?)

But Evangelion is different, it tackles big themes in a complex and realistic way most TV and movies in the same vein try and fail at doing. That's what I meant by it being able to 'carry an audience'. Do you honestly think critics like Roger Ebert would praise DBZ or Sailor Moon in the same breath as he praised say. . . Ghost In The Shell or Princess Mononoke? Eva is an entirely different league critically speaking when compared to DBZ or Sailor Moon.

Other than these two, FMA and FMA:Brotherhood came to mind immediately....and Death Note.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. I'd happily point most popular anime in the direction of the nearest trash compacter.
