Which means I'm clearly on the right track!
For my post-3I fic, go here.
The law doesn't protect people. People protect the law. -- Akane Tsunemori, Psycho-Pass
People's deaths are to be mourned. The ability to save people should be celebrated. Life itself should be exalted. -- Volken Macmani, Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra
I hate myself. But maybe I can learn to love myself. Maybe it's okay for me to be here! That's right! I'm me, nothing more, nothing less! I'm me. I want to be me! I want to be here! And it's okay for me to be here! -- Shinji Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yes, I know. You thought it would be something about Asuka. You're such idiots.

Guin Saga 01.

So I decided I might as well watch this since it was the at-long-last adaptation of the best-beloved sword and sorcery doorstoppers of the Nipponese and all that. The reason I'm actually going to be watching this though is because it's got without doubt the most hilariously over-the-top soundtrack I have ever heard. It's Uematsu, which already gives you an idea, but it's like Uematsu listened to Poledouris' score for Conan the Barbarian for a week straight and then decided "I am going to outdo that goddamn score, see if I don't." I'm not faulting this though, since the rest of the show is basically the exact same idea taken to a similarly insane extreme. Or, put another way: how many beloinclothed, leopard-headed barbarians seeking to resolve existential crises by random wandering and violence have you been thinking of, lately? (You don't need to answer this, the point is "Conan...but his head is a leopard" is just unoriginal enough that it cycles back around to originality)

Holy shit though the kids are already getting on my nerves. it's a good thing this show is mostly badass background paintings, ~*MAJESTIC*~ scoring, and Guin punching things so hard they explode, because every other character to date has been detracting from the simple purity of that formula. I hope this show doesn't turn out to be shit. Or...actually, you know what? I hope it does.

Macross Plus: Very good. Better then I expected. Does every Macross movie/series use music as an important part of the plot?

Started watching Nisemonogatari.
So far only three episodes but it doesn't seem like their getting to anything. In fact I can barley see anything that would warrant a part 1, 2, and 3. Episode three seemed like it should have been the first episode in the set (as in episodes one and two are filler and three is where the plot begins) but that's my opinion based off only three episode. I'm sure I'll see it in time but right now it looks as if they're just covering their bases and reintroducing the past characters. I can't say I don't enjoy watching it however. It's just as fun as the first season, and feels very similar.

Now that I'm back watching more anime I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for semi current ones to look out for. I haven't kept up with anything in the past few months and have only stumbled across this one buy accident.
I the mean time I might watch some VOTOMS or Gundam Unicorn 4 (I believe it's been released)

Oh, sorry it's been a while and I forgot which number we where on. I couldn't remember the release date off the top of my head but I was pretty sure it was already out. I guess I'll grab a bit later then.

What's wrong with Nise?
Still looking for newer stuff but not much luck.

It's just dull ecchi wank material. For a longer answer you can check out Xard's review.

You could watch Katanagatari if you haven't.

I could enjoy Nisemonogatari for what it was.

It's amusing character interactions, reprise of old characters, introduction of new ones, cemented in some things for the main characters and nicely set the stage for Nekomonogatari(currently reading, shit's picking up).

Not as good as Bake, but you'll probably have to watch it sooner or later anyway(All the adaptions are already greenlighted).
It's kind of like what Double Zeta is to Zeta Gundam, I guess

Katanagatari is, of course a great watch too, but it's not really something you want to marathon.

Currently watching One Piece with a friend.
Only 450 episodes left to watch! It's great so far, but we ended up skipping the last part of the dragon island arc because it was just too dull and predictable. -.-
