Except this is the Rebuild Universe. Anything could happen at this point. Shinji almost started Third Impact at the end of 2.0 for Christ sakes.

However Unit-07's and 08's roles are up for speculation.

It'd be really awesome if they did include the MP Evas. The fight with Unit 02 in EoE was one of the best scenes I've watched in a long time.

Though most of the discussion didn't yield much, I know the idea has been passed around in other threads.

I know that this can't be proven (or disproven), but perhaps the original concept of the MP Evangelions evolved from the Proposal document in which "the twelve strongest [Angels] ... descend from the Moon and (apparently) vaporize North America."

We know there were supposed to be 12 Harpies, although only 9 were completed in time for Third Impact [which was probably written in the story that way due to the Tree of Life / Sephiroth having only 10 focal points, with one being occupied by Eva-01.] Also, instead of descending from the Moon, they descended from flying-wing carrier airplanes into the GeoFront. It isn't completely illogical to see the parallels and imagine how this story evolution could happen.

Considering that Anno has had much more time and resources this time around for Rebuild, he may well choose a different direction for the antagonists to take. However, since it's been established that a version of the Dummy System does exist in Rebuild, Anno does the plausible option of including the Harpies in this continuity. Mind you, the Dummy System was necessary in both the TV/EoE and Rebuild continuities for the Eva-03 scenario and its impact on Shinji, but it doesn't necessarily indicate future use in the plot. Personally, I don't think that the Harpies will be in 3.0/Final, but no one really knows.

I was wondering, any one think that the mass produced evangelion from the end of evangelion will be in the rebuild of evangelion series? i was thinking if they are they will probly be in the 4th movie right? or hase any one heard any different? and if they are do u think they will own Asuka and Shinji agin lol? but wasent the mass produced evangelion like units 6-14? and now there is a unit 6, 7 and 8 and we already know the who the pilots are right?

Personally, I'd like to see Jet Alone, just for the re-design. It's appearance in the show was somewhat... underwhelming. I'd like to see how 16 years later if the creators could ramp it up a bit to make it seem any more, well, advanced I think is the word.

The trailer at the end does state Unit-08 but if there is an Eva Unit-08, there has to be an Eva Unit-07. However Unit-07 may have a minor role if it does comes into play.

For all we know Unit-07 could wind up being like Unit-04.

Or it could be yellow with 1 to 7 eyes, and equipped with a system with that Russian name I can't spell that makes it fly, and piloted by a troubled Bri-... British, kid? ... oh sh*t.
