Actually, I thought of that idea too, though then I realized it'd be far too silly.
Though in terms of who she is (not that there isn't enough speculation already!!), what's the possibility we'd actually get some Jet Alone stuff (even better, Jet Alone Prime! Evangelions for the win) and for whatever reason, she'd be it's pilot?
Regardless of who/what she turns out to be, I just hope she won't become a Child---er, Shoujo, considering 2.0's gonna be nuts enough with Asuka and Touji (maybe Kaworu, too) being Pilots, and since this chick wasn't in Canon or a Pilot, why mess with the Established Order of things?

I can promise you those fan wishes of seeing Kensuke or Hikari in an Eva are NOT going to come true.
Besides; the whole point of R'Eva is to mess with the order of things. We all can tell Anno likes shocking people so I think the reason Eva 1.0 was almost the TV show verbatim was to lull fans into a false feeling of security. And probably the first half of 2.0 will be the same. And then- WHAM!!!! Our collective minds are blown out our asses.

The idea of Anno shaking things up is indeed awesome, ESPECIALLY considering those various Newtype Articles said that Rebuild would be the same as the series minus the ending, but......yeah.

Mayumi Yamagishi and Mana Kirishima to appear in rebuild?
Recently after watching the first new movie, I started to play some of the older evangelion games and a noticed a few Interesting things. I read around the forums and didn't see these theories yet so here goes.
In the game "Evangelion 2nd Impression" for the Sega Saturn. Mayumi Yamagishi was added as a new character who has an angle core inside her body.
This is a picture of her in the game. Of course the images were not the greatest and probably not very high budget.
Now at the end of the rebuild we see the new mystery character.
Of course the images don't look the best match but finding a good picture of Mayumi from the game is a hard task. Both have the same color hair and glasses.
Another interesting thing I thought of was Mana Kirishima from "Girlfriend of Steel". Who was a spy who Shinji feel in love with. Also known as the pilot of the Trident, a competitor of the Evangelions.
It is possible that she could be the mystery character as well, but they appear to different for that theory to hold ground. Which is what makes me suspect Mayumi Yamagishi
This is just speculation but does anyone think that Mana would fit into the rebuild or just think that it was cool to see a different ending to the anime through a game rather than in actual animation?
