I'm deeply conflicted.
When Q released in Japan I soaked myself in spoilers all over the internet... It was, in a way, a very emotional and fun experience. Reading the incessant influx of bits of info, images and videos coming from Japanese viewers, along the reactions of fans going literally crazy... Man, what a ride.

It felt like I was being part of a giant congregation, sharing joy and WTFness alongside thousands of other people all over the globe.

I want to experience that again...
Although, I want to be completely blind this time too. See it fully and in the way it was intended to be seen.

Really don't know what I'm gonna do...

(ps. It's been a looong time since the last time I posted around here huh. Thats Eva for you, bringing everyone together :emogendo: )

Since this is my first time on this ride to the movie's release, I'm going to spoil myself since I can enjoy media even after its been spoiled but I do hope that the reactions are positive. Shocked reactions are fun to see and be a part of but super negative reactions drain the fun out of it.

I would love to see it blind too but for me my curiosity is too much to be left dry. :D

There should be a "vague spoiler rundown" that just tells you what to expect, what to not expect, quell fears and stoke anticipation.

It does not have to be all or nothing: "all" deprives you of the reactions, "nothing" drives you crazy for the months until we get a Blu-Rei or hell, years until the dub. We know there's a lot of people who waited for a proper Q release for a very long time instead of watching the camrip.

I'm planning to do a video on my YouTube that goes full spoilers and summarizes the film from scene to scene, but before that, I'm definitely gonna try and do a short non-spoiler review for people too.

Idk if I could skirt around a "what to expect and not expect" allusions without people who really want that strict no-spoiler experience getting spooked and ditching the video, but I could definitely answer that for you here if there was some developmental you we expecting/dreading. Some warning like, "Don't expect everyone to get a happy ending," right?

Im not conflicted at all. I enjoy movies mostly when im completely spoiled. Not knowing what happens kinda spoils them for me. I particularly hate twist and surprises. I admire them when i know them, but when not, i get annoyed when they happen. Doesnt happen to me in books , quite the opposite. I suppose part of me just got bored with the overdependency of twists in modern visual storytelling, mostly on tv, and in the overhyping of those surprising moments and the exageration of secrecy in the marketing departamnent. They have somehow become clichés to me, and perhaps that feeling has afected those films that dont deserve it.

Maybe i just am a pathological rebel without a cause, who knows, but that is how i am.

In regards to Shin Eva spoilers, all I have to say is this:

There is literally only one spoiler I want, and that's whether the time loop theory is confirmed. I want to get it out of the way ahead of time so I can enjoy the movie without that on my mind. I don't want to know anything else, though! I'm worried I won't be able to get my answer without encountering any other spoilers. So, uh, if you're reading this 11 days in the future, please DM me with either a yes, a no, or a maybe in regards to the time loop theory being confirmed.

I can tell you right now that it won't be confirmed. NTE is all about not being mired in the past, so why would Shin be mired in the past?

@Tumbling Down, PM me once the spoiler lock goes up and I’ll give you a definitive “Yes” or “No” on the matter.

Honestly, the ONLY REAL spoilers I want thus far are:
1. Does Shinji manage to reconcile with Misato and Asuka?
2. Does it have an ending where the cast are SOMEWHAT okay? And NOT an esoteric ending of Shinji leaving everyone as part of an "adult" message of "moving on".

Everything else at this point, is irrelevant to me.

1. I'd be shocked if the answer wasn't yes.

2. Shinji is going to say goodbye to all of Evangelion apparently. We'll know what that means soon.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

Yeah, but I'm talking about an ending where Shinji doesn't leave Misato, Asuka, and everyone else to start a "new life" on his own because of too much bad blood and time away between them. Yes, I understand walking away from the Evas, but I don't want an ending where Shinji completely burns his bridges with them, a la "When you've burned enough bridges, the only way to move is forward" type of ending. They're....the closest thing they have to a family to him.

I just want to know if PenPen is alive, but I don't want to spoiler myself about the others things.
*petrifies and is left floating adrift in space, where it will outlast Evangelion: Thrice Upon a Time 3.0+1.0, as an eternal testament that the human race existed*

Bye bye all of Evangelion and Evageeks.
When you feel sad remember that it's always epic Spinosaurus aegyptiacus time, you were born in the same planet as S. aegyptiacus, how cool is it?
I never understood why people hate the Rebuild because it's different and love the Series, can we just love it all without creating dilemmas and unnecessary discussions?
SPOILER: Show
Be careful of 3.0+1.0 spoilers

This is truly the end of this account, forever.

Maybe it might be a good idea to have a "Ask for Spoilers Safely Here" thread in the regular Rebuild Discussion forum? A thread where people can avoid having to dive into the spoiler-filled 3.0+1.0 subforum for just these small questions. They can just ask their questions there, and those who have spoiled the movie for thenselves already can reply to them using the spoiler tag so that only those who want to can see the answer.

I'm unsure about that. Having a thread like that could lead to a lot of people being spoiled against their will, or people who cave into curiosity and regret spoiling themselves. I think it'd just be best to have people PM one of the staff to ask for specific spoilers, if they don't want spoil themselves on the whole film.

Aren't these contradictory ideas? How can there be too much bad blood between them if they manage to reconcile?

I think he'll be sticking around. Leaving everyone you know behind and starting a new life would be ok ending if this wasn't an Evangelion movie.
