WILLE and Another Impact(Anima(tor) Eva CGI)
For those who watched (Another) Impact, you'll remember that at the end of the clip, (spoilers) the Evangelion unit finds Rei and initiates an impact. The scene is then zoomed out to show us a bunch of other holes in the landscape, similar to the one creates by the Evangelion unit upon impact. The implication in this scene is that impacts similar to what we just saw have been initiated before, although at varying degrees and at varying places. I'm also personally unsure of where to mark the land mass down on a map.
WILLE's logo has a similar design to these "holes in the land" from the impact shown in AI, including lines that are also plotted on the AI impact map. The design in mention is at the bottom of the logo.
Does anyone think there might be a connection here? It could be symbolic, in the sense that WILLE is separate from the impact occurrences going on. In the first image above, you can see there looks to be a small sprout of civilization on the map, in between the impacts. The logo could suggest that WILLE is a civilization apart from the NERV/SEELE/Evangelion impact timelines that are going on around them.

The holes in the land suggest a Mandelbrot set, though I don't think that bottom of the Wille logo is close enough to say the same of.

To me, the Wille logo looks as if it was conceived with the idea in mind to let it look like it was haphazardly drawn by brush, without any fancy design in mind. I think Khara made it look that way to drive home their weird guerilla-esque, counter-cultury, Gekko-State-like vibe Wille is supposed to emit. I mean you can see the strokes a brush would make, when writing a W, also maybe there was some kind of obstacle where now is that empty space that crosses the middle and right line part of the W. Also there's a dab of paint beneath the WILLE lettering.
So, well~ I think any congruencies you might see between the landscape and the logo are most likely coincidental.

I don’t know, it looks like it symbolises something… I see heads, and that part in the bottom can’t be an arbitrary geometric shape. It has to carry some meaning, Anno doesn’t do this stuff randomly!
I don't know about that. Nowhere was it implied in the sequence that the crater holes were perfectly proportioned to be circles through falling debris, though there are connections suggesting that the impact destroyed land in a particular way. The name Another Impact suggests that this is just another one that happened. the way the camera zooms out at the end also brings this suggestion to mind, and on top of that, some of the land masses are really distant away from each other. I doubt debris flew out that far and landed perfectly each time, creating a separate, though similarly-shaped, crater.
pwhodges, I had not considered the mathematical set that you mentioned.

The Mandelbrot set has also been mentioned in connection with episode 23, but it is far less convincing even than this one.

pwhodges, I had not considered the mathematical set that you mentioned.
Meteors tend to form semi-spherical holes that are nearly perfect, those are called craters.
This is a crater in Mars: http://www.marsartgallery.com/images/martiancraterplaxco.jpg
I think it’s very plausible to be a debris storm, as any impact would be much larger than the sum of all craters there. I could be wrong, though
To be honest, I never quite understood Wille's logo. So much going on, make my eyes almost converge.
But if there is something that really bugs me about it, is the splash of ink under the "L". The way I see, could possibly be a reference to something growing of wille/will, like a wish of change; oooor something growing of Lilith.
And I just noticed that the trimmed parts of the W in Wille resemble the pyramid and inverted pyramid. Kind of. (Although the obvious reference is Wunder's wings).
Anyway, if there is some resemblance between the logo and the impacts, could be coincidental, as already mentioned.

Of course he didn't. Anno made abundantly clear what the Wille logo should say about Wille, namely, "We don't have time nor resources for a fancy logo, we are a guerrilla-army, we're going to wing it. Quick! Splash a W over there with this stroke - yes this should suffice"

We can clearly see in the anime that the logo is very likely made of stencil art, a quick an easy way to mark something, and those blobs could be ink spreads but the droplets usually run towards the ground because of grav— OHHHHH MAYBE THEY ARE INK SPREADS AND THE GRAVITY IS ALL FUCKED UP SO THEY GOT THIS REALLY WEIRD SHAPE! maybe this is only one instance – the only one we’ve seen so far – and other logos throughout the ship have different ink spreads if any at all and look like this:
