Yeah I'm sure all it'll take is another week or two and we will have a full english screenplay ready to read. And once a cam-rip come out it will be amazingly easy to sub using the translated script. Great work guys! You sure are all very devoted! Geek power to the max!

Uh, what's the official/accepted translation of コネメガネ we are using?

コネメガネ refers to the fact that Mari got to be an Eva pilot through her connections, and that she wears glasses, like how Shinji got to be an Eva pilot because of his father, and Rei because of bias from Gendo. Literally, it'll be "glasses connections." Don't know how to translate that, though.

"Nerd" or "Four-eyes" doesn't make the fact of the connections explicit.
However, if we emphasize the favoritism at least in the first time, perhaps this could be used.

All I can think of is maybe call her "queen four-eyes" or something like that. I think Reichu has the right idea. It needs to flow well in English and too literal translations sound awkward and jarring, as many fansubs have shown us. The goal of any translation is to make something easily understandable to the intended audience without needing to explain things.

Do you want me to add it back now or in the proof-reading stage? Actually, you have full control over the repository. Add it back when you think to be the best moment. Provide a good commit message though, so people don't delete it again.

It should be easy enough to indicate untranslated text with timestamp durations in the translation file, as opposed to deleting stuff from the transcript. I'll restore the file if it hasn't been done yet. (And I take it "commit" messages are the equivalent of providing a 'reason for editing' on Mediawiki?)

I got frustrated with not being able to find an transcript of Fuyutsuki's Yui monologue, so I gritted my teeth, listened to it about thirty times, filled in the missing parts with miscellaneous paraphrases off Google search, and was able to put together at least the bulk of it. Not efficient in the least, but... DAMMIT, I JUST HAD TO KNOW WHAT HE SAID!!! I'll add it to the file, and post it here as well, ugly and unformatted.
