Timeskip and Touji's imouto (I admit "lol that could be touji's imouto older" was my first idea after "brown haired Misato" after I saw her in trailer) was the most outlandish part of the trailer. If it's confirmed directly like that picture does there's no good reason to deny the rest

Also, this should be old news by now but Eva kids are fundamentally difficult to distinguish from adults sans height and since we don't see any adult characters for comparison in the first 7 mins clip we're only assuming they're 14 out of convention.

Plus it's not certain THE WHOLE film takes part 14 years in future

I know I'm judging based on limited amounts of information. Consider it a judgement of that limited amount of information then if you must. The context is obvious, of course I haven't seen it yet. One reads and reacts to reports based on their own basis, this isn't rocket science.

Did Eva really need all this clutter? Was it not possible to make a compelling new story out of the more basic frameworks that existed without throwing in dozens more robots, characters, running as far away from established difficult things like the events of the last movie into a removed future so that we don't have to be accountable for the meager new developments that we ~have~ made?

Thank god we'll always have the original Eva. Nothing can destroy that, no matter how much Anno goes Lucas.

So you're basically asking for the same thing again. If your expectations are for this series to "beat" the original series then your expectations are way off.

And you're also writing off this entire movie because it goes into the future, assuming that it is completely skipping and not explaining any of the plot developed thus far. Even though the six minutes previewed today on TV totally do continue on from the plot laid out in the second movie and acknowledged it happened.

You haven't really articulated your point of why you dislike this movie you haven't seen very well.
