For clarity's sake. I'm probably wrong about a few of these, so corrections are welcome.

Unit 00: KIA (eaten by Zeruel)

Unit 01: Awakened(?) / FUBAR(?) after fusing with Zeruel fused with Rei whatever but impaled but Kaworu's MARK 06 spear. Same as EoE 01 (?).

Unit 02: FUBAR, Za Beast'd. Probably not out for the count, I would surmise, however after ditching its "humanity," will EVA 02 start to geek out ala post TV 01, after Zeruel?

Unit 03: KIA (Bardiel, taken out by Dummy 01)

Unit 04: KIA (asplode, but why exactly?)

Unit 05: KIA (Self-Destructed fighting Tunniel)

MARK 06: A-OK! ^_^ (btw why MARK-06? Why not just Unit 06?)

Unit 07: ? Unrevealed

Unit 08: edit: PREGNANT (FUBAR)

EVA Series: Maybe?

STAND ALONE: Preparing its comeback (joek)

Both terms have been used...but presumably the Mark.06 designation indicates immediately that this Eva is significantly different from others.

Probably not. SEELE's work has been done by Mark 06, they don't need harpies from what we've seen so far.

Well, it actually states that EVA-08 is "brought to life". So it might be the child of whoever is pregnant in Q.
NGE was a damned good anime
EoE was an anime masterpiece
And Rebuild is nothing short of epic

The translation I'm working with describes it as "the quickening Eva-08", which would vaguely suggest that Eva-08 is the mother, rather than the fetus.
Nothing is so valuable that it need not be started afresh, nothing is so rich that it need not be enriched constantly.

It was all but explicitly stated that Eva-04 was sabotaged, most likely by Seele (maybe they didn't want any competition for their Mark.06 as an Eva that is independent of any external power source). The clues are in the Gendo/Fuyutski scene, followed by Kaji's quip.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't quickening allude to the first movements of a child/fetus or something like that?

Pardon my ignorance, but wasn't the destruction of the American base an accident in the original series? Something that wasn't in SEELE's plan, as mentioned by Gendo/Fuyutsuki? Or am I thinking of the destruction of Unit 03? In any case, does this change (if it is a change) have any story significance?

There's no proof, but some characters theorized that SEELE deliberately sabotaged the S2 Engine in the original series, causing the incident so as to prevent the birth of a godlike Evangelion.

Strangely, it seems they want the exact opposite in Rebuild.

Either that or its a Highlander.

Of course the question is will they bother to fix 02 or not what with the limits on how many are allowed, guess it depends if they find a way to get 01 back into action which you know will be a bigger priority

Although I'm slightly miffed that we didn't get the 2.0 version of 00 from Bandai, even though you can tell they prepared the molds for it. Still waiting for Eva-05 as well :\

Eva-00 received an upgrade in 2.XX, and it did get the merchandising treatment.
