Online life VS Offline life
How many people, in your estimation ('do you reckon'' for y'all down south in the USA) spend more time online than offline?
Is it weird that I interact more with strangers online than with real people offline?
I strongly desire to share my love of NGE with all of you strangers out there.
Let's bond. Let's sing koom-bye-ah. Let's appreciate NGE as the beautiful art that it is.
I want to avoid annoying other forum members or being discourteous.
It's a struggle right now. I want to bond.
I've been drinking red wine.
Must...not...yearn for comradeship..
arghhhh

I watched the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV show and films for the 1st time in January 2014. Heartbreakingly sad but so beautiful too. I'm here to discuss theories about what happened in the show.

The Internet is simply integrated into my real life.
I first got a personal Internet account in the autumn of 1992, and have used it ever since (I've changed ISP just once, in 2001, I think, when I got the first of my own domains as well). I had used email earlier, though, as the company I worked for from 1985 had an internal email system (in 1986 it was extended between their offices in different countries).
I work largely in front of a screen (well, a couple), and the access to my local servers, to university servers, to my home servers, and the wider Internet (for both work and personal purposes) is just all jumbled together. I may use Google on my iPhone to answer my companion's question while we're out out walking my dogs; or connect to a work server to tweak something (I've used my iPhone for that while sitting in a departure area at Heathrow).

I used to be that way as well, but nowadays I think I've achieved a good balance between online and offline. The Internet is still very much integrated into my life, like pwhodges said, but I also like to go out and actually do things outside. There's no doubt the Internet will always play a major role in my life, and my job as a lawyer contributes to that seeing as though it involves heavy computer and Internet use, but I've come to realize there's more to life than just sitting in front of a screen all day. I used to be perfectly fine with that and there's nothing wrong with it, but it's not for me anymore.

My free time at college is spent reading, at the gym, running, or watching anime/tv/movies/shitposting on 5chin. There are people that would consider me a friend here but I don't spend much time with them, in the most polite way possible I like it this way, it's the kind of efficient life I'm unable to make myself live at home.

I'm from the northern suburbs of Minnesota.
You staying warm guy? It looks freeezing there lately.
Minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit? That's nuts!
Also, hang in there man. Life gets better.
As long as you're alive there's hope that you can be happy.

Well, I like my online life too, well liked and stuff and cool friends, long distance relationship with my boyfriend, etc., but when you're older you'll enjoy the company of other humans, yeah my home life sucks too, but I'd rather have friends to talk in irl as well, plus sometimes, I kinda want my bf to be there for me, but it's a long distance relationship, we'll meet eventually, it's the choice we made and we're happy together.
Online life can also be stressful, I dealt with a bitchy mod of another forum this week and an asshole troll member from that forum who harrassed me on and off the forum in PMs and facebook messages. Then I tell him in a facebook message to leave the one forum (no likes him there and he doesn't even like Sailor Moon) and go back to the forum where he's liked and missed, he screencaps and accuses me of blackmail, which I didn't do, I just made a suggestion. He sent the screencap to bitch mod, but she can't regulate what happens off forum, plus he lied to her about harrassing me and got off way too easy and should have gotten banned. At the end of the day, it's all over, this why the internet stresses me out, trolls in purple pimp outfits and mean mods.

The day I got broadband was the day I was born. They day I hooked up a triple monitor setup was the day I became the Internet.

I met a lot of my current friends online, and the net's how I keep in touch with my high school/college friends. I like the Internet to unwind, or if I need to research something, but IMO nothing beats enjoying a beautiful day outside.
