animeondvd lists this as being in a diamond preview:

Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum Collection Thinkpak - $89.98

just last month I spent more than that on 5 of the 7 discs.
how are they going to handle the inserts for a thinpack set? Perhaps that will be the silverlining for those of us with the first edtion of platinum?

Thinpacks suck, don't they? Well, compared to the real box-sets. I admit to having a few, but I don't love them.

I hate the real box-sets. There's no reason any show needs to consume that much space on my shelves; no reason at all.

Well I only paid $US 20 bucks each ($US 25 for vol. one with the box), for a total of $US 145, which is fine, I guess, but the thinpack better be the shitiest thing ever, cause i dont' wanna regret getting it.

I would almost agree with Hexon, that it should be of the same size as my X-files, but I'm stilled POed about the thinpack buyers getting sucha discount...><

Any images of this set out there? Thin pack as in the rail plastic cases or as in (the matrix gift set) cases?

(Scroll down to THINpak.)

A great space saver which can look very stylish if designed correctly - I might purchase this set... shit.

Deciding to rerelease titles as thinpacks is, IMHO, a rare example of ADV doing something really right.

This is why churchy people are always stressing the importance of longsuffering. I only have the first three volumes. Purchasing this will be way cheaper than completing the set.

Thinpacks never have all the "extras".

I look at it this way: if I were living in Japan, watching this shit on TV, what are the odds they'd send me the liner notes?

Love is all you need...er, I mean DVDs.

Practically speaking, you are absolutely correct. However, as a collector, I want all the crap I can get for the money...useless or not.

I always break the stupid thinpacks by stepping on them >_>

The thick, annoying DVDs can withstand my confusing struggles to get out of my room to go pee in the middle of the night.

I'm...very messy...

I like it big and solid. It looks good! In my opinion, that is...

I've never had any thinpacks, so I really have no opinion on them. I just liked Hexon's bad Eva reference. >_>

They seem cheaper and more convenient if you have a small shelf-space and lotsa boxsets, but they have their downsides.

I bought this Werner Herzog movie box, right? It had thinbacks, and I hate them! (Kind of) But the movies are still good, so meh... And I don't have to look at the thinbacks as they're in the box.
