The S/A scenario I see is one day Shinji comes home from doing the shopping to find Asuka in bed with Touji (having decided she needs a man in her bed), then six weeks later, the coffee-pot scene.

Here's hoping Rebuild gives us either Shinji/(not Asuka) or no pairings at all.

Asuka was always my favorite Eva character.

I don't not like the new name simply because it's a change, I just don't think it sounds as good Asuka Langley Sorhyu, that just sounds a lot better than Asuka Langley Shikinami does.

Still as long as they keep her overall character the same or very similar to it was in the series Im not overly bothered about a simple change of name.

Also it seems Asuka may have been promoted to the rank of Captain
