I just listened to this a second time and I think it's somehow gotten worse from the first time I heard it. It sent shivers down my spine three or four times.
I think the fact that I understand it makes it all the worse for me, due mainly to the crap translation changes they made so that it could fit the beat. This version has none of the original depth of meaning and just DOESN'T WORK. Anybody here who knows Chinese will see what I mean.

Oh, so that's what it meant. I know Mandarin as a second language and could pick out some of the lyrics but not enough to get beyond what was really obvious.

I wonder what it would sound like if the voice wasn't so damn high...

Alright, the lyrics sounded more like an anthem than an anime OP. There is such a thing as 'dynamic equivalence' (translating something in a less literal, freer manner) but this one just does it too much.

I mean, 'beautiful Angel'?

Actually judging from the chinese lyrics it looks like a desperate and hasty attempt to do a very literal translation, then later censored.

I still don't see why there is a Chinese Translation in the first place. The show was made in Japan and the song should be in Japanese everywhere. I'm also referring to the Spanish and German version. Not just the Chinese one. [/OtakuMoment]

Well the German lyrics actually work, and sound quite nice, IMO.
