Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Well Shinji and Rei look good, but with Asuka Ray is 100% right. Also I have yet to see something that makes them look grounded in our reality. But I don't think there is any piece of fan art that does because after all they are "anime" characters.

I don't know how true it is, that Anno himself said it. I also don't want a love-action Eva movie.
However I also have seen this in the past and it was likely from this thread before I joined. I remember the argument being that Emma Watson is too old now, but IMO it would work, we just need some Blue contacts.
