How would you describe Evangelion in just one sentence?

Here's mine:
"Freudian symbolism ensues as a boy pilots his mother."
And another:
"Evangelion is a popular Japanese fanfic of the Bible."
TehDonutKing: Break out the booze, sixth-graders, and funny hats, for Xacebans became a true EvaGeek, for checking out Eva-01.

Evangelion is something, that after you have finished watching will make you sexually frustrated.

Evangelion is "the equivalent of throwing an Abnormal Psych textbook into a woodchipper, gathering up the little scraps, and pasting them together with robot violence and flaming airborne crosses."

That is there, should the rare occasion of his sig changing happens.

An anime that defines the word "Social Phenomenon", to such a level that when Eva is mentioned in Japan it is widely understood as the anime not some personality from the Bible, and this will likely not happen again; it is also a historic anime that made "midnight anime" and the current generation of otaku anime possible with its influence still broadly felt in anime and manga these days.
I never thought I would come back to Evangelion after EoE,
But I discovered Re-Take (or it found me?) and
now here I am.

Evangelion is an exercise in metatxuality, in that it creates a sensation in the viewer through interaction with the text as much as the text itself.
the prophecy is true

Statistical fact: Cops will never pull over a man with a huge bong in his car. Why? They fear this man. They know he sees further than they and he will bind them with ancient logics. —Marty Mikalski

Here's one I prepared earlier...

It's a story about multiple notionally allied factions competing to launch a Singularity bootstrapped on alien technology found under Hakone in Japan and in the Antarctic from the point of view of a boy caught up in all the machinations.
