Female bust reduction in Rebuild?

I cbf getting pictures to compare NGE animations to the Rebuild ones at the moment. Is it just me or have the animators reduced the bust of the females in rebuild?

I think theyve reduced Asuka and Rei's curves. Bust also being crucial to Misato's figure, i feel like theres something missing. Not enough sexual innuendo in the Rebuild movies perhaps?

Uhh, the breast size is just more consistent than in original. Rei and Asuka both have tits but they're sizes are this time around actually fixed and stay same, unlike in NGE. Misato still has huge jugs.

Hadn't noticed a difference, but it could be attributed to better-quality animation reducing the need to hit the audience over the head with quantity.

poor Japanese pride when a lot of the grunt work is actually done on Korea and Thailand etc.

That's lighting you're looking at there. Superimpose the two over each other and their silhouettes will match almost perfectly. (though, Rei in the NGE image looks slightly cross-eyed.) Now that Ritsuko model on the other hand, if you look at Sadamoto's design models, the NGE image is way off. Rebuild's actually looks closer to the "original" design. (Whichever version of the models you want to call "original", Sadamoto or whoever GAINAX outsourced that shot to for NGE.)

Also, while we're at it, anyone want to compare NGE Asuka episode 12 to NGE Asuka episode 22? Episode 22 Asuka is different from episode 12 Asuka in the same way 2.22 Asuka is different from the rest of NGE episode 12. Her breasts finally stopped fluctuating. Tiffany Grant called Asuka's breast reduction in NGE episode 22 a "deflation". 2.22's character model is no different in that regard.

I think this is just Sadamoto and Anno going "Fixed" on all of the character's body silhouettes. The Korean have a history of ruining animation models. You should watch the Korean animated film Protectors of Universe and witness the breast fluctuations within, even to the point of some female characters looking very lopsided from time to time.

"Closer to Sadamoto's original designs" is not fully correct. Sadamoto actually REDREW those designs for NME. Among other changes, the characters' proportions are more naturalistic.

Is Mari supposed to be the same age as Rei and Asuka? I wouldve pegged her as a couple of years older considering shes more developed and arguably curvier.
