Re: Celebrity RIP Thread
Sorry this is so late, but since no one seems to have mentioned it here we lost Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac on Nov. 30th and David Crosby of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young on Jan. 18th. I've always thought that Christine McVie was badly underrated; I actually like her songs better than Stevie Nicks' songs. David Crosby had my favorite voice in CSN&Y. I found it very soothing and relaxing. When I listen to a David Crosby song, all my cares and worries seem to melt away.
Rejoice, glory is ours. Our young men have not died in vain. Their graves need no flowers. The tapes have recorded their names.
I am all there is.
Negative! Primative! Limited! I let you live.
But I gave you life.
What else could you do?
To do what was right.
I'm perfect, are you?

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread
Somewhat belatedly, news reaches me of the death of David McCallum at age 90. I show my age and detachment from media in thinking of him as Ilya Kuryakin first and foremost.

Matthew Perry has died at 54.
This one depresses me. I loved what he did in Friends growing up, and more recently I played Fallout: New Vegas for the first time and really enjoyed him as Benny in that. Kinda hard for me to imagine him just being gone. Drowning just seems like such a horrible way to go too.

RIP David Bordwell, almost certainly the greatest film studies academic in the English language.

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread
I'm really, really sad with this news.
RIP Mr. Toriyama. Thank you for creating so many worlds deeply important to us. Thank you for creating my favorite manga. You were young and there were a lot of projects you couldn't finish. But I hope you're doing well in the other world now

Just sit here and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, don't do it right away. Don't do it when you can. Read my posts instead. It's the only way to live a life without regrets.

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread
It really is terrible. He was still so very young and right in the middle of new and exciting projects.
There are *many* other creators we will likely see tributes from before long, including Anno.
