Let's explore the Seele logo and how it relate to the core themes of the series. Seele's logo is an upside-down triangle with seven eyes in a pattern that is incomplete. I've been thinking more about how Seele's logo and how the seven eyes of the world relate to the theme of Eva. Seven is often associated with divinity. However, with the way the eyes are arranged on the face of Seele it looks misaligned, creating an imperfect pattern that almost begs that there be an eighth eye to complete the pattern. Eight is often seen as the number of rebirth and new beginnings.

What if Yui was that eighth eye, and when she died the eye closed/got removed. Or maybe an eighth eye needs to be added, which would be Shinji's own eye. Just some thoughts

The eye and the triangle is also a clear reference to the "eyes of the world" symbol, most popularized as the "eye of providence" symbol and most commonly seen on the US dollar, however has a relationship representing the Catholic Holy Trinity, a triangle pointed upwards with an eye looking upwards toward unification with 'God'. However, Seele's Logo is a triangle pointed downwards, representing a catholic path toward hell. It's no secret that Seele is a death cult, but was it always that way before Gendo told them the great lie regarding the nature of Human Instrumentality?

Was Seele a more neutral organization before Yui's death, and was it Gendo that turned them toward the death cult path? Did Seele's eighth eye close when Yui died and Gendo took over, or is Shinji the promised eighth eye to represent rebirth upon his awakening? Did Gendo trick Seele with the idea of Human Instrumentality in order to overturn them for his own goals?

The 7-eyed sacrificial goat was dream prophecy in the old testimate predicting the coming of the lion of Judah aka Jesus Christ.

Or, maybe the eye Asuka gets eva-speared in is the eighth. She got Seele'd.
