-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

I preferred the one with the recap myself, I thought it flowed better.

I liked episode 16...
The uncensored cut of 6 is much better though, in my opinion, though I am glad the second DVD set will have both.
God, I know I'll probably buy the damn set for sure if it has the parallel works and ep 5.5.

Dub-voices and stuff: I know this sorta thing is subjective but here's what I've noticed so far:
Leeron's pretty good in the dub; I like him.
Kamina's dub voice grows on you (from what I've seen), it's just he does have that buffet of manliness quality to him.
I've watching episode 4 right now; it's shame that animation couldn't have been redone for the DVD or something. The one thing I don't get is I think they dubbed Boota in English, 'cause he sounds different. Why dub Boota just because he turns human later on?
They pronounce Kittan's name weird though (Ki-tan instead of Kitan). His voice is okay, I guess.
QFT. That would be awesome.

Shiro here to report on the TTGL dvd 02.
This set is a hellofalot better. It's the little things. Like now Sorairo days is subbed, as is happily ever after. 10 and 11 are subbed perfectly. I actually like Bandai's subs for Simon's epic speech BETTER than the fansubs.
Instead of "Even if I'm in my grave my drill will drill on," he says "Even if it's my grave I'm drilling I'll drill on."
So yeah. I've only watched 10 and 11 so far, but 11 was great, and gave me goosebumps.

It's the new English.
And, damn you Shiro, I need to wait off 'til after pay day (the 15th), or at least 'til my friend who owes me a little money's payday (and even then, I'll still have less than $40 in the account that'll have to last 'til the 15th) but you're making me even more tempted to take the money out of a different account, and buy it tomorrow. Ah hell, I was thinking of doing that already.

OK, just marathoned through 18, the last episode in the box. Got chills during 15. And there are no mistakes, save one, that I noticed.
During the recap episode, Nia clearly says "Shimon wo shinjimasu!" or "I believe in Simon!" but it's translated as "He will never lose to the likes of you!"
Minor gripe, but hell. I had to gripe about *something*. Otherwise, these are great subs.

It gets the point across, so I think it can be forgiven.

Oh yeah. Just remembered another one. They call Viral's mecha Enkidu, which is right, but in Episode 17, they call it "Enkidudu." Which sounds absolutely laughable.

It really did get renamed "Enkidudu"
Honestly though, in the old "Enkidu", the fact that the cockpit becomes exposed when you remove the blade is really stupid when you think about it, lol.

Episode 11 gave me a hard on, and episode 15 gave me a harder on. This was an awesome purchase no doubt.
Highlight of the day though: I was purchasing my copy at Best Buy, because it was only $19, plus I have a reward zone card, and a $5 off coupon, and Best Buy is the sex... anywho, I picked up my copy and noticed the... questionable cover content. Feeling horrendously embarassed about my purchase as I stood in line, I finally reach the register and handed it to the guy. Cashier took one look at it, looked at me and said "Do the impossible!". Awesomed out, I of course respond "Kick reason to the curb!", and over in one of the other more distant registers I hear someone shout "That's the way of our Dai-Gurren Brigade!".
Needless to say, I was a happy customer.
