Well, like I said, I was also letting performance dictate how I read the subs. In that sense, I think they support the idea that this is a less kill-happy Asuka when it comes to the case of Shinji Ikari.

I was referring to the 4 Omnibus, which include volumes 10, 11, and 12. In it, Carl Horn writes as though he had organized a follow-up interview with Yuko Miyamura, as well as an interview with English voice actress Tiffany Grant, and had them comment on Asuka once again.
