Where do you live? I was only able to find a listed called "The Collector's Edition" on the UK Amazon. Over here in the US Amazon, it's just called "Evangelion 3.33: You Can (Not) Redo."

I live in the US, I can't find a site that outright say's "Collectors Edition"
I believe that it's the multi-format option I saw on Amazon, (Because of the image) but now i'm not certain.

Two disks and the book - that's clearly the same as the version which UK Amazon calls "Collector's edition". Although the picture is different, the items in it are clearly the same.

What is the price for the UK-version? I'm confused as to why (Multi-format) is cheaper than the standard the (Blu-Ray) when it has more stuff.


Also, the Blu-Ray version is in Spanish and says "Edición Coleccionista" A.K.A. Collectors edition... WTF?

We have DVD: £15, BD: £18, Combo/Collector: £22. The description of the collector's edition is messed up too, as it calls it 2-disk DVD edition, while also saying there is a "bonus copy on DVD"; but the picture of the box shows the text: "Blu-ray and DVD Collector's edition". Common sense is enough to make it obvious that it is just BD and DVD + book, and the other things are just typical Amazon stupidity. Sadly, they don't include the OST CD which came with the Japanese edition - or maybe the Spanish one does!

On a different note, the Japanese version has the OST, but this one doesn't? Why?

^ A quick look at CD Japan's website says that the OST disc was a "First Press Detail." I imagine the OST isn't available in the Blu-ray set anymore.

The regular blu-ray tab takes you to international releases through the Amazon marketplace. Before that version, it had the Unit 08 cover from...I forget where exactly. I asked a user from /r/evangelion who got theirs today from rightstuf, and they said it's just a standard BD disc. I'm not sure what's with the Amazon listing, but it's the only place I've been able to find a US multi-format listing. The others are all for the UK set.

The image used for RightStuf's (Blu-Ray) is identical to the one used for Amazon's (Multi-Format).

2) Did the /r/ guy purchase just the Blu-Ray or the Collector's edition?

Some people asked Mike McFarland about the delays at a Comic Con in Australia last year, and reportedly he said that Khara asked them to change some terminology around in their dialogue, such as changing "Unit 01" to "01 Unit." That was just given as an example and wasn't necessarily a change they were asked to make, but the disclaimer makes me wonder.

This reminds me of when Gainax asked ADV to keep the "First Children," "Second Children," ect. Engrish they wrote into the script for the original NGE series, while ADV insisted upon translated it into the more grammatically sensible "First Child, "Second Child," ect. I wonder what it's specifically about this time.

Going back to the trailer, I didn't notice a single difference with the way the lines where delivered, so I really hope they didn't waste over 2 years of doing nothing but having a thumb up their ass.

Also I now gotta re-order this again, but it'd be nice to finally own it.
