Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Funny, I have the same relationship with melatonin. It puts me to sleep but I usually get really wacky dreams, even for me. None of them really bother me enough to make me not do it, though. And your dreams sound like the kinds of dreams I'm used to getting and that don't bother me very much. Are they really so bad that this is a huge dilemma?

Well, I don't normally dream (or at least I can't remember anything about them at all). It doesn't disrupt my day or anything, but some of them are much more disturbing (the ones I listed are fairly tame). I think I'll just stop eating cheese before bed and deal with not having my sleep aid.

wtf happened to my new tab page? After a reboot of my machine just now because of connection issues, I go on Firefox and the new tab page has my New-Tab-9 rearranged and reduced to now a New-Tab-8. I didn't even remember okaying an update or anything.

I only have really vivid dreams when I oversleep. The second I realize I'm dreaming I realize I'm more than likely late for class.

I sometimes wish I had more vivid dreams until I actually have one and wish I had a different vivid dream.

:stimpy_aha: I tried using Google Chrome on a Windows XP (just to see if it actually worked).
Things didn't work out so well! I was bored so I installed it, finally after booting it up
the sucker kept freezing and crashing. I couldn't do anything.

Lesson of the day I guess.

My dreams are always weird. Not "mushroom samba" weird, just...weird.

Anyway, ripping CDs is a pain in the arse. This tutorial I found on how to rip them using VLC is utterly useless- it seems to want to turn the entire album into 1 file, and it doesn't seem to work anyway.

Also my stomach hurts. Considering that just yesterday this woman from school (who I can't stand) came back from a trip to Africa and was feeling unwell...I'd best sign a will.

Use freac; job done.

No, you should be using Exact Audio Copy. It's also free.

I've always found EAC a pain, and was pleased to come across fre:ac as a viable alternative that I find more friendly. EAC might be better if you are ripping dodgy disks on dodgy drives, but in my experience that's hardly ever the case.

Mind you, the best in both regards (accuracy and interface) was the old PlexTools, back in the day that Plextor actually made their own drives; but it looks for a Plextor drive from that period to use as a dongle, so has had to be abandoned.

So, the brilliant people at HR at my usual work place managed to tell the intermediary agency that I would be starting a week earlier than what I discussed with them. Of course, I only discover this when the intermediary agency sends me their contract, which I receive two days after I was supposed to start
This is the second time HR fucks up in this manner. Last time I discovered it 3 whole weeks later :cringe: ...so 2 days is some improvement  It's also the nth time they make a change without telling me  And unlike me, they're not autistic, so they ought to be better at communicating (but then, I am not incompetent, unlike them... ).

Only if they came back from West Africa. Everywhere else is fine.

You can just use Windows Media Player. It does it easily, no pain at all.

Cut my finger when my hand slipped while working with a grinding machine. Luckily it's not possible to do much damage even by accident, but it sure stings as hell.

Just hate waking up like this being half-asleep, having to lay out the table immediately, then to pull out the plate hamper (suddenly felt too heavy to pull and it was about to flip) and watch a dozen plates crash onto my feet.

:faint:

The deadline I was working against feverishly last night has come and gone. I was up until almost 08:00 today (yesterday? Technicalities) putting on the finishing touches.

And tonight, I'm still going. Because the next deadline is just a week away, and what's due then includes two assignments I should have had done by today and one week ago but which the professor let us put off until the major milestone due date. And as for what's due on the main project for that milestone, the work that goes into it is more than what I scrambled to put together this week. So my only hope is to just keep going at full blast.

That's also why, ultimately, I did not participate in the game jam happening this weekend. I visited campus today to see the talks being presented by alumni, but also to tell in-person the kid I met at the same place last week (at the Smash Brothers meetup) that I wouldn't be participating, and what do you know, he's not participating either, and for the same reason (too behind on schoolwork). But we made a tentative agreement to meet for the next game jam -- the Global Game Jam at the end of January.

But man oh man am I benefiting from all this schoolwork. I don't remember if I mentioned it on EGF but there was a game dev phone interview I flubbed a while back (about a year ago maybe?) with a local studio, and every now and then as I dev on this project or do homework I think to myself "I can totally answer that question now!" of some thing or another I remember being caught flat-footed by.
