Ooh, I'm loving the scan from the Next Time Preview; hopefully this means better quality pics of other scenes from 2.0 or 3.0 are on the horizon.

Maybe the idea of Mark-06 being an opposite of Eva-01 or some such thing has some truth to it, provided Eva-08 isn't used in Eva-01's place instead. ^^;

I want to see Unit-07! We'll probably see it get destroyed or hear about it getting destroyed. :(

Eva-07 speculation  SPOILER: Show
...What if Mari is pulling a Nono and SHE'S Eva-07? O_o

But yeah, I really can't wait to see the new Evas in action and who their pilots are, especially with the fact there will probably be a new Angel before Kaworu does his thing.

I can't help but feel Toji will wind up being a pilot in this Universe still.

But what would be his motivation? His little sister is fine, and he isn't all too keen on Evas otherwise.

Another thing regarding Touji as a possible candidate: there wasn't any mention of Shinji's class being full of potential pilots this time around, and if i picked up correctly, the only ones considered for piloting Eva-03 were already on the piloting program (that is, Asuka and Rei. I don't think Shinji was even considered, given Shogouki's special needs).

@SSD:No.No. Just no.

Toji piloting would make no sense. So far, he's been nothing more than Shinji's goofy sidekick. It's too late to turn him into part of the core cast.

He shuddered a bit, remembering the somewhat creepy level of detail Kaji had gone into, while rubbing a watermelon in a disturbingly sexual way.

SaltyJoe: I'm not saying I like it, I'm just saying it's a possibility (though it would be a lame one seeing as that was pulled in another show -_-; ).

Personally I do think Shinji will become the Eva-08 pilot/Yui will be core-swapped as well as Mari will be the pilot of Eva-07, but guess we'll see.

Lucretius: I agree, though wouldn't it be ironic/weird if it was KENSUKE finally? :lol: (I doubt it, but just sayin'.)

Well, he had a couple "serious" moments paving the way for episode 18.

Well, piloting doesn't mean being turned into a part of the core cast per se. The only way i could see either Touji or Kensuke becoming "pilots" is if one of the new Evas (probably 07) would require a literal human sacrifice or something to make it work.

I just think it's far more likely that we'll never hear from them again after 2.0, much like in the original show. Tokyo-3 appears to be gone, so it's a good point for them to exit the series.

To be honest the only "serious" moments I recall was in episode 3, 4 and 17. 17 with the moments leading up to him piloting Unit-04.

I thought there was a shot somewhere that suggested they were all killed... no idea where that happens though.

There's a scene during the Zeruel battle where I think the city is shown collapsing all around the,. I hope they were killed off; that would make up for Toji getting off with just a missing leg in the original show.
