DVD menus

Was wondering how the DVD menus change between regions, as I saw a video on YouTube of the DVD menu for End of Evangelion ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vPtAxmMWiU ) and it looked completely different (and far cooler) than the one on my disk -

I don't have any of the pre-platinum DVDs so I'd be interested to know what their menus are like, as well as the menus from the Japanese Renewal release.

That youtube video is the R1 DVD menu. The one for Death and Rebirth was also really cool. It's a shame that the best part about those releases was the menus. I have the Renewal DVD's, but the menus aren't anything special.

Here's the menu for the R2 DVD of Volume 7 that came in the Second Impact Box

very bland, eh?

But it came with some cool sketch drawings and the entire scripts for the final TV episodes and eps 25' and 26'.

It's a cross between a Steyr MPi-69 and an AEK-919 Kashtan.

Anyway, DVD menus. The ones on my D&R / EoE discs suck.

Platinum looks exactly the same in terms of the menu (does the BGM Tokyo-3 play when you start it up?), I can't comment on Death & Rebirth, though.

It's giving me the shivers...

The Manga DVD presentation is really good, It's just a shame that the rest of it is shite.

That looks like the standalone Platinum, 'cause the one I have has an image of Shinji instead of water.

And like SSD and Indigo said...Zugz, that avatar of yours! :cringe:

I do have standalone Platninum (single volumes) so that would explain it. ^^;

By the way, does your version of Platinum have an image of the volume cover when you press stop on the DVD player? (Never know what those DVD image things are called.)

Nah, I have that recent tin box set, and there's nothing in the top corner except the water like the other platinum releases. (Unless there's ANOTHER platinum tin release, of course)
